Delicious and comforting food! We got in late after our flight was delayed 4 hours and Morabeza really hit the spot. The server spoke Portuguese, English, and some Spanish to explain the whole menu to us. I would definitely go back again to try more dishes. Comida muito saborosa. A empregada de mesa foi tão simpática. Os cocktails foram top. Gostei imenso, vou voltar. Definitely a great find and will be returning. Great service, tasty food, loved the cocktails to start which were perfect with the spicy samosas and fried manioc with aioli. My main course of fish calalu was very tasty. My partner’s pig cheeks with corn porridge equally tasty. Menu African Lusophone. A delicious find in Porto. Recommended. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Unique African/Portuguese Fusion You can't get this food anywhere else. The menu has offering inspired from various parts of Africa and fusion dishes combining African flair to Portuguese standards. Really delicious, reasonably priced, great service. Well worth a visit and another return to try more! Their take on the francescinha made with corn bread and a Mozambique sauce was fabulous as was the shrimp curry.

Great experience. We were a big group and they were able to accommodate us upstairs, which made it feel more private. The whole place is beautiful. The service was a bit confusing at first, but I would say that's probably because of the largeness of the group. Eventually it all worked out! The food was great, everybody had a good experience and got to know a bit more about African cuisine. And obviously the finishing touch of the chef (I'm guessing) coming to our table to ask us how everything was going, made it even more special. She was very nice and everybody fell in love with her 😂 I definitely do not regret spending my birthday dinner there and will definitely come back on other occasions! Whow! We loved it! I could have eaten the samosas and drank ginger and orange grog for the whole trip to Porto! Thanks for a brilliant evening! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Super tasty, Indina (I already forgot her name but she was great!) gave me two great suggestions and they were both amazing. Some balls of something like potato with garlic and a sauce, and a saucy fish dish. Really recommend the Cuca beer.

Morabeza Boavista offers a blend of traditional and fusion dishes, combining Portuguese cuisine with the culinary tradition of Capo Verde. The name itself conveys what this restaurant in the heart of Porto is all about: hospitality and warmth. Every dish was high-quality, but be advised: if you don’t like garlic, pick your dinner carefully. For garlic enthusiasts, like myself, Morabeza Boavista feels like a home away from home. One slight downside was the Old-fashioned chicken which, while tasty, arrived in rather small portions. The personnel is friendly and laid-back, contributing to the cozy and upbeat atmosphere. The walls are of an unforgettable shade of green. If you are into visually-pleasing restaurants, Morabeza Boavista should be on your list. I found one of the male staff members very rude. It was chucking it down with rain outside that day, and even though they open at 7:30pm, when I turned up at 7:25pm, the door was open so I walked in and asked if I could sit down, and instead of him politely telling me that they’re not open yet, he rudely shouted “you cannot come in here, we are not open, you have to go out!”. I asked him if I could wait inside next to the door because it was raining so much and he said no! So I had to wait outside in the rain. Furthermore, during the service, I found him to be unwelcoming, impolite and just indifferent to whether he was offering good service or not. There was no smile, no please, no thank you, and a lot of rushing our group around. In terms of the space itself… it’s okay…. Small… not a lot of privacy. Regarding the food, it was alright. I had their own version of the francesinha and the flavours were not bad, but it was expensive! You have to pay for the chips separately which is a joke. I personally wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. You can eat MUCH MUCH better somewhere else in Porto, with nicer staff, and for cheaper.
