Stopped in on whim when I was on the north side of the island and I'm so glad I did. This place is amazing! 15€ for the tasting menu and everything was delicious. Great view. Definitely worth the trip, this was my second best meal on the island. Much much better value than Roça São João. Good portions. Make the trip here it's definitely worth it.

What a lovely place! We stopped by as a last minute decision for dinner after visiting Praia dos Tamarindos. We were the only ones there. Hoping for something other than seafood, we ordered the chicken and wow, it hit the spot! Well marinated, served with rice and a warm cabbage salad. We were also served a variety of plantains and cassava, and complimentary fruit at the end, all for 850 Dobras ( 2 beers and 2 chicken plates). The ladies serving and cooking were so kind and welcoming! The only thing we thought was lacking was that they didn't have menus, so we were a bit confused since we don't speak Portuguese. Thank goodness for Google translate!

We loved our stay here! The staff is very friendly and the local food is delicious. 👌🏼 Great, calming ocean view. The beautiful beach is only 2min by car. They also built nice cabins to stay overnight. Highly recommend! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We went to Monte Mar expecting a nice meal with a good view. All seemed promising but suddenly the manager of the place discharged his anger, for apparently no reason, on one of his employees. We left right away. Avoid this place!

I tend to review places if they are exceptional, and this place certainly was. The atmosphere, dining experience, and food itself was all exceptional. The value, what you get vs. what you pay was also great when factoring in that we'd paid nearly similar prices elsewhere for less quality everything. Roughly 500 Dobras for the meal and 2 drinks. Amazing restaurant, in a stunning setting, with exceptional service. Macinta, our fabulous waitress, made us feel so welcome and explained all the local fruit and vegetables, most of which I’d never tasted before. All delicious. Deliciosa comida con productos de su propia huerta con sabores increíbles. El dueño es muy amable y te explica con detalle cada plato del menú degustación que te va sirviendo. Las vistas son de 10, y la relación calidad-precio es genial. No usan harinas, por lo que mi novia que es celíaca pudo comer sin problema. Totalmente recomendable.
