A lazy sunday afternoon drive to town,we ended up Mitre 10,yeah nah not my preferred hardware store,however customer service good,ample parking,good location,some items a little pricey for me,easy to navigate,in a well set out store,otherwise fine.
Yummy scrambled eggs. I would come more often if you made your own hollandaise. Whatever brand you use is not very nice.

Just tried to buy a fan that had a price tag of $40 reduced from $80 took it to the checkout staff quibbled about the price and went to the back of the store , made me late for work without a fan , now my son is going to try Bunnings I thought the price should have been honoured so I won’t be coming back your way
Returned a Rug Doctor we had hired. Cleaned it first but were told the brush was dirty. My suggestion no point cleaning the machine - return it filthy and make them work for the $50 they steal.

Generally I love going to Mitre 10 Gisborne, I find the staff super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. First staff member I asked for help in plants was awesome!! Then went to look for a dehumidifier that I had earlier checked on their website and it said it was in stock, so was looking for that and an outdoor recliner. I stopped an older female staff member to ask for help, she said she was just in the middle of something but would be with me shortly - all good! She found me again within a few minutes - great! So I pulled up the website on my ph to show her what I was looking for and the product number, she agreed they were in stock. That’s where the problem started, point blank she didn’t want to look for it, a million excuses, told me to order it on line and pay for it that way then I’d get it in a couple of weeks. I explained it was over a hundred KM round trip for me and I’d come there especially to get it, more whinging (my teenager even described her as whiny- and she’d know!). I begged her to please have a quick look for me, so she audibly grumped as she walked off, less than 5 minutes later she’s back with the dehumidifier! Then I asked about the chair, the display model literally right next to her bench and her comment “so you’re my difficult one today aren’t you”. Really!?! The chair was in stock and across the isle from her, but again it was a big song and dance. A huge thanks to James, who was sadly her whipping boy, he was so polite and helpful. Oh and evidently the manager is on holiday and that’s just not fair - Dude you deserve a break if you have staff who are like this. It’s bad enough when a customer throws a fit, but when it’s staff in customer facing roles, you have to wonder why they are there in the first place. It really has tainted my feelings towards the store, just that one persons actions can leave an indelible mark.
Great service. The guys cut my plywood to size, loaded it onto my vehicle - all with a friendly smile and no charge - Amazing! Love the drive through and keeping dry all the time. Great place! Great Service and highly recommended.
Lovely Cafe instore makes a good coffee and enjoyable breakfast. Staff are polite, considerate and attentive. Will visit again. Also get a great view of the garden centre while eating
