I visited McDonald's on a Saturday morning. The restaurant wasn't very busy, but there was a constant flow of people. I had to wait here for about 2 hours because my car was being serviced across the road. I ordered a coffee and a meal. The coffee was great, a big improvement, but the meal was standard, as expected from McDonald's. However, the restaurant wasn't very clean. While waiting for my coffee, I could see into the kitchen and noticed that the floors and surroundings weren't very clean. Additionally, during my wait, several empty tables were left uncleared. Orders were brought up to the tables all the time but none of the front of house staff bothered to clear them. I also tried to use the restroom, but it was too dirty to use. The overall atmosphere was wrong; none of the TV monitors were on, and there was no music playing. This, combined with the noise from the kitchen, made for a very unpleasant environment. I had to change my review from a 5 star to a 1 star. What happened to the service?? It used to be good, but since last year we haven't had one complete order. There is always an item missing in the pack and today we got it again and again there was items missing and they gave the wrong burger! So now I have to get something else anyway. McDonald's is our go-to when time and life catches up with us. The quality of the food is always good, it's always fresh and service is promt. We orderd and then changed the 10pc nuggets to a 4pc. They took very long to change it and then when they finally did it we went to pay. We gave them a R200 and had to get R120 back but we got R20 back. Then we asked them for the rest and he said we can go wait in front of the McDonalds. We said, no and stayed there while waiting for our money. I wanted to order Sweet&Sour souce but they did not have, I also wanted ice-cream but they did not have. I'm not from George, so it was such a breath of fresh air to actually have good food and service. I had a big Mac and the food looked exactly like the pictures which is honestly a first for me. For the past 2 weeks they have been closed by 11pm on a Friday and a Saturday they have a sign that says 24 hours and if you look at their times on their website it says that on Friday and Saturday they are open 24 hours we got there at 11pm and they were closed and on top of that the staff were so rude it seemed like an effort for them to tell us in a polite manner that they are closed! THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! Food: 3 Service: 1

Worst service we have ever experienced. We ordered our food at 11:40am, at 12:10PM we are still waiting for our food. We asked one of the waiters what happened and she told us because one of the orders are a chicken burger they have to defrost the chicken and cook the pattie from scratch, which doesn't make sense at all. A few minutes later she comes back and told us it seems as if the kitchen thru away our slip, apologized in the air and left us. She made it seem as if we are at fault for ordering a chicken burger only find out later they lost our order. Very disappointed McDs. Service: 1

Ive always spoken highly of this particular McDonald's but as of sunday morning just pass 2 we went through the drive through My brother in law started talking to another client and the lady at the receiving window practically dropped our food on his lap and said " ek gaan nie myself repeat nie" where my brother in law frankly said she's rude and has no customer service. She then came navk with the rest of our order and says dus die laaste fokin keer dat jy so met my praat. Her vulgar language and attitude is definitely not of customer service. Someone in the car happened to know her Lauren is her name. To top it all of when we got home our fries had no Jalapenos! Never setting foot there again!

And so it begins again. After getting it right a few years ago the practice of squeezing the French fries box is back. Is it really necessary to cheat on your clients like this to safe a few bucks? Twice in a row now and luke warm too. McDonalds fries are the best, but only if fresh! Update: 08.08 22 Got a reply from McDonalds to contact their customer care via their website but there are no contact details for such a department. Strange, very strange.
