Changing the price during the middle of a transaction is crazy. You have a sign posted for $15 then change it randomly during the transaction to say $20 is the new price. Yeah no, absolutely ridiculous.

Food is good, customer service is poor and they never answer the phone (280-7692), when trying to call in for pick up orders

The portions are normally very good but on this occasion, I got a small portion of macaroni salad although I bought the large meal.

The food was great... But the only problem was the miscommunication with the staff... I had ordered BBQ chicken with rice with extra fresh salad but did not receive any... Over all it was good food
TL:DR Decent food. Bad service. But I have a point to make...
After my last experience of never making eye contact with the cashier in spite of staring her down relentlessly, I realized that Max's problem will probably never change. I'm big on customer service. I gave in to the devil on my shoulder telling me to visit Max Grill for some standard good barbecue. (yea, that's all I'd say about the food since decent barbecue is both common and not particularly special). Anyway, my experience sealed my opinion about them.
No. I didn't get cuss out from an employee, neither did I get a terribly bad order. My experience was reliably mediocre. I don't think Max will change. The typical customer seems to be pretty fine with an uninspiring cashier interaction, to be then greeted with "who order de chicken and fries" when your food is done. They aren't demanding anything more than food that "taste good" assisted by too much ketchup and garlic sauce.
With that said, for those who just want some bah bah que, it's fine. For the few like me who appreciate good service and "something different", this ain't it. Maybe it's great for an emergency food run. But for me, I'll give Max a break until I see some change.
When you go for BBQ you don't care for a view or pipers begging for a 'small $20.00' , you go for food. NO ONE beats Max. Don't believe me fine...just go see for yourself.
On a side note the lamb slices are very thin so some are overcooked...but the chicken can't be beat!

So we normally patronize the montrose branch which is excellent all round.
But for what is supposed to be the flagship branch.. the one that started it all, enterprise staff could be nicer and more pleasant what communicating with customers.
Food reminded great 👍
