Amazing place and amazing owner. Good music, good decoration and REALLY good food. We even got a tour of the kitchen after closing and the secret recipe for the pancakes. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good eating experience in Zakopane. Get the sour cabbage soup!
Been going to this place fro almost 15 years now, introduced to me by my friend Michael in 2007. Prices haven't changed much, maybe portions are smaller, but still enough to fill your stomachs in. Forget about posh food, this is mum's cooking, decor is excellent and old and gives a place distinctive- again not posh -vibe. Kwasnica - sour cabbage soup - is a die for and the best I've ever eaten, usually I take schabowy with oscypek but one day will try those pierogis. You pay only by cash, which might be off putting. No booze either, but I get it: this is a place to eat, not to drink and in season queue might be for an hour long easily and you would share table with other hungry peps, get on with it. Owner is a personality and character himself: take it or leave it. Same with music. I don't have any pics at this moment, but will be there in January so will update my review. In short: best home made food in Zakopane. If you'd like to go to proper restaurant at Krupowki, go, but you will pay triple for less food, probably better service and mediocre vibe since it's created for tourists. Edit: with pics now. Prices are higher now but still super low compare to other places.

delicious food, amazing service, food came within 10 minutes even in what seemed like a busy restaurant. I recommend the chicken broth and noodles are delicious, so is the sour cabbage soup. some things to remember though- they do not serve alcohol, it is cash only, and there are only limited vegan and vegetarian options Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person zł 20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Fried Pork Loin

Amazing place! We will definitely come back when we will be in Zakopane again. The food was delicious and the interior/atmosphere was very welcoming and warm. We went there with our 10 month old daughter and had everything to comfortably eat there. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Really fun spot, but you won't use Google translate to understand the menu. It's written in local dialect, which is a bit different from Polish language. Just ask super friendly staff for the English version. The food was amazing, hearty, and very tasty. It's a traditional local menu. We had a big group, and someone ordered Kwaśniak. It's a sour soup with ribs, local specialty! Not recommended for vegans as we only found 1 option - potato pancakes. The atmosphere and the interior were great. Cash only. Simple good food & enjoyable time. We went for lunch & dinner. +Cabbage soupe & Chicken noodles soups were good. +Fried pork chop and just cooked steamed potato with fresh dill served also small salade -Just perfect as it is. It would'nt go wrong. Smart portion (choice of small /large) Since we were not hungry enough, we had 2 soupes, one large pork chop & coffee. +Potato Pierogi (I asked no bacons on the top)& blueberry Pierogi(dessert) were just fantastic. melting on mouth. ** note -Beef stake were not good & fried fish(sola) were so so. -Cash only, no alchol But Still for many reason it deserve 5/5 Nice unique ambiance, great service(staffs), simple good food serve with nice salads. Thank you!

Nice staff. Good food: the dishes I ordered were perfect (the dumplings were really good) but my girlfriend's meat was too fried and there was a lot of oil taste. Overall I would recommend going even though the music was a bit loud for us and it was rock/metal and the venue was very messy. More than reasonable prices (for 2 we spent 90 zl).
