It's clear the owners of the Magestic are serious about providing superb food and service. This was somewhat unexpected for a 'mall cafe' but some research before arriving in Invercargill suggesting the Magestic was worth a visit really did bear fruit. The staff were attentive and professional, I overheard staff apologisng that a menus item was unavailable and it was a great demonstration of customer care. When it arrived the salmon eggs bennie and avocado smash really were as delicious as they looked the coffee was also delicious. I look forward to trying the other fare on offer during my next visit. All over experience-10/10. Food was fresh and cooked perfectly, coffee was beautiful and the staff were polite and welcoming. Will definitely be returning! A great find. The staff were absolutely lovely, and I was impressed to see they offer about 7 or 8 different hot chocolate flavours. I very much enjoyed my white hot chocolate, and the caramel date pudding was delicious. It was a nice place to relax and kill some time. Food is lovely. When I asked if there were any more date cakes, the lazy lady at the counter did not even check with the kitchen staff. She just said no. Three of us ordered hot drinks and slices. Our drinks hadn't been delivered when the kitchen staff popped a tray of date cakes in the food cabinet. I was very disappointed 😞. I purchased one date cake to take away as I really wanted my sister to try it. The same lazy staff member snapped at me that I would have to gave it in a bag as they had run out if boxes. Honestly the food is amazing but the front counter staff need customer service training as that particular lady would put me off ever going back. She needs to up her game.
