I'm very impressed with the Louisiana authenticity of the food. I worked with Stephanie, the owner's daughter to photograph a few of these dishes and she seemed genuine and very helpful. I noticed her and the staff's customer service was spot on as well. This is their 3rd location. The original one is in Detroit and opened back in 1970. They have a great back story too. When visiting you can read all about it.I had the seafood gumbo and it was soooo good. Just the right amount of seasoning! Take a look at these dishes!! Delish! I am going to try the chicken Po'Boy and the classic jambalaya next time. Enjoy and let them know you read this review.

Was really looking forward to meal, but was disappointed before I even began to eat. The lows - The gravy on my meatloaf was water thin and bland. The meatloaf was too thick and not flavorful. My yams showed the result of sitting in a steam table all day - very mushy. The highs - red beans and rice still bang! Very flavorful, beans not mushy, rue had a good consistency. My wife enjoyed her po boy sandwich. She also enjoyed her red beans. Overall, the things tgat I did not enjoy can easily be fixed, or maybe I caught them on a bad day. Either way, we will be back. I am posting this not to bash, rather just as information for all - even ownership - to have an honest review from a customer who wants nothing but the best for this business Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Red Beans
Ordered three times via Door Dash. The first two times it wasn't bad at all. Went to order a third time and I ordered the Shrimp Jambalaya. Got the order and not ONE shrimp in it. It was chock full of sausage though. So much piled that I had to remove half of it or I was eating spoonfuls of sausage. I checked my order and receipt and I ordered the shrimp jambalaya, so it wasn't an incorrect order on my end. I tried calling the listed numbers for all locations to talk to someone and no one ever answers the phone and it just goes to voicemail.. I just visited this location today for the first time. I ordered red beans and rice with Cajun Sausage, Classic Jambalaya, Shrimp Gumbo, 2 Shrimp Po'boy sandwiches and a slice of 7up pound cake. Let me tell you....this DID NOT DISAPPOINT! It was all flavorful and delicious! The staff welcomed everyone who came through the door and the service was fast, friendly and efficient. This is definitely a return to spot! I told Stephanie as I was checking out that they MUST plan on being open for more than 3 days. The food is just too good for them to not be open all week! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
The choices were plentiful and my Red Beans and Rice with added Chicken was DELICIOUS and hearty. My husband ordered the Seafood Gumbo and we couldn’t eat it all, delicious as well. I’d been waiting for this place to open for the longest and was informed, it was difficult to find people to work and because of that this location will only be opened, Thursday Thru Saturday until they’re fully staffed. The staff was friendly with great smiles and the place was colorful and welcoming, but you couldn’t dine in at this time. I’ve visited their other locations in Detroit and very excited to see them closer to my neighborhood. If you buy any of their offerings I guarantee you’ll go back for more. Congratulations on your new location and The very Best is yet to come. God’s continuous Blessings. I pray you get the right staff to aid in your continuous growth. Amen!!!

Mediocre at best !. Not impressed. The dining area is decent, but the area where the food is prepared is a little sketchy. My food was not good the shrimp all taste like they were from different times of the day, not fresh I almost vomited from the oyster all 3 taste different. The rice was hard.I gave up and gave the rest to my dog and he didn't even eat it.🤷🏾 Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2 Recommended dishes Seafood Gumbo

Collard greens were sweet. Don't know why. I want my greens to taste savory only. Trying not to eat sugar on my green vegetables. So unhealthy. Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
First time here, horrible Experience food was non flavourful and beans were hard and so were the rice. A little bit over price for what I got. And the hours are weird when Google told you that it's open, they really aren't. Really wish I could get my money back. Because I had to recook my meal. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
