Food and service were amazing! But the atmosphere is something else, the decoration is based on a family house, there's family portraits and grandhouse furniture, which adds a very comfy vibe to the place. Loved it! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

It's been just over a year since I had the pleasure of dining at Lothes Mat og Vinhus. Since then, I've spent time to learn more about each dish that I was served (I took notes during my meal!). I am even more impressed now than I was at the time of my meal-- and I was utterly impressed then! Each course of the meal was so carefully prepared. The flavors were wonderful. The chef was creative in his use of ingredients while not including any ingredient just for "show." From the house-made lamb prosciutto to the Tuscan-style fish soup, baked cod over pureed cauliflower (all with wonderful seasonings), and passionfruit cream with Norwegian-style donut holes (smultring hull)-- every dish showed care and excellence in execution. The waitstaff member was personable and professional. He worked seamlessly with those in the kitchen so that my food arrived perfectly done, presented beautifully. The ambiance of the place is also special. I felt I was able to relax more than in most other Norwegian restaurants as this one was a little more "genteel." The table settings and the decor are perfect for those wanting an evening that is upscale without being pretentious. This is not a restaurant for people who are loud or who have children who aren't accustomed to the appropriate etiquette for dining-- at least that's my opinion.

Great location with a view of the hustle and bustle of the harbour. Too bad the service was not up to par. Had to go up to the bar to order drinks after waiting for a while. Finally got to order food but only part of the order was delivered. Had to remind the staff twice to get it all. During our meal, people at several tables just left since nobody came to take their order. After waiting for a good while to get the check we had to go to the bar, again, to pay. Too bad as this is a great spot to sit and have a beer and a bite to eat. The food is also pretty good.

If you are in the mood for some fine dining and a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere in the central of Haugesund, then look no further than this place. Exceptional service and prices that won't hurt your wallet as much as it should based on the food. This place is THE place to eat in Haugesund

If you are going to Haugesund and you don't take the time to visit this little charming restaurant you really can't say that you have been to Haugesund. It has a fantastic atmosphere, a very friendly staff good coffee and a very nice view. This place is highly recommended by me.
