So so happy I came across this lovely bakery while on holiday. We needed a 70th birthday cake done last minute and the staff at Limnos were friendly and so helpful. The cake itself was absolutely divine, we ordered a chocolate and Hazelnut cake and it tasted as good as it looked. It was nothing short of decadent. Would certainly recommend them..

Delicious Chai latte! We had a few different options to try - the almond eclair and hazel nut chocolate cake were winners!

I'm embarrassed to say that I have been coming to Limnos (first in Eikestad Mall in Stellenbosch and now Somerset Mall) for about the last 8 or 9 years but it's taken me until now to write a review. Having moved over to the Helderberg side of False Bay from the Southern Peninsula about three months ago my wife and I have been able to enjoy their amazing coffee and cakes more frequently, culminating in us both having our first ever Baker's Breakfast this morning, I thought it was about time I did one.
The brunch was excellent (matching their fantastic cakes). Regarding the latter, I used to love the Pavarotti* (see one of the photos on their website) but realised that - while incredibly tasty and artistically made - it wasn't doing my waistline any favours, so I've retreated to having a 'cocktail eclair', which 'does the job' admirably at a lot less calories, with my coffee.
Sometimes the Pavarottis weren't available on our earlier trips from the SP, but there was always something very very nice as a substitute anyway. So when I see someone giving a one-star review just because they didn't have Black Forest Gâteau when he was there (poor diddums) - or the profiteroles weren't up to scratch at five in the afternoon (when did she think they were made?!) - I get cross, because Limnos is a fantastic company with great products and a nice set up, and everyone should give it a try, so I'd hate you to be put off by a couple of negative reviews!.
Thankfully most of the recent reviews on here are very good, but if you still don't believe them, just have a look the next time you go past, and see how full Limnos is compared with the 'international' brand just over the way from them.
*Pavarottis have been replaced (1 July 2023) with the equally lovely Chocolate Hearts.
** Update! Pavarottis are back!! But I will still only eat one on my birthday for the waistline reason mentioned above.
quick lunch a real treat for mom and my friend fav coffee shop in Somerset Mall treating my mom left and bible study mate right of pic perfect light lunch good sized portion of salads and quich impressive staff always attentive order perfect advise well and quite knowledgeable about the specials of the day as well as full offering do not hover at your table always serves with a smile my orders has always been perfect and never had to return a plate to kitchen small venue never feels overcrowded though excellent choice of sweet eats menu very seasonal and adapt to trends not very pricey but economical for big family with kids more adult like style eatery love the choice of vegetarian options i do miss the quich with fig preserve though discontinued was my fav quiche of all times had it two seasons ago usually spot matured adults seated and money walk ins for over the counter quick buys and not sitting down

Very poor service.
I was standing in front of the display where you tell the staff what you want to order. There was 2 ladies behind the counter one busy with another customer and another looking pretty.
I was standing there with an uneasy baby and all I wanted was some pig ears.
Although the service is terrible the pastries are amazing.
