Authentic pozole in Bacalar! A little bit difficult to find because it’s tucked away, but it was so yummy! The perfect meal for a rainy afternoon. So good and staff was very friendly and helpful. We got guacamole, red pozole as well as a horchata Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Guacamole

Very tasty mexican food with authentic ambience. The portions are large for a good price. A few vegetarian options are available. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100–200 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
This is now my new favorite food! We had the pozole rojo (based off the recommendation of another review!) and it was delicious. I hope we find pozoles in the rest of our trip. Family joint where mom and dad are cooking up all the food. Loved it
We both had red chicken pozole, thought it was nice though a bit on a salty side. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $100–200 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
It was my first time having pozole so it’s hard to compare it to another one. I thought it was good, not amazing or anything. We also ordered their tacos of cochinita pibil which were cold. The service however was very good and food was very cheap. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Local restaurant without any wow effect. So we were expecting the local taste. It was ok but well, for us, not tasty enough. According to our Mexican friend, the pozole blanco is cooked like her mother does it. It was good but not wow. Maybe we are too picky. Still, not our best experience in Mexico. But if you are looking for food at a good price, go for it. No issue on the quality. Nice staff.
Unassuming place on downtown Bacalar where you can enjoy a nice bowl of pozole, which comes also in a vegetarian version (we tried both). Fair prices, they don’t carry alcohol and the aguas are from concentrate, hence the four star rating. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100–200 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Who wouldn’t want a pozole after a long stormy summer’s day. I had the vegetarian version which was hearty and filling. The lady also brought over oregano and spice, along with onions and lime for you to add at your discretion. For 85 pesos, there’s no going wrong.

A true family joint you shouldn’t skip. Got the pozole rojo, grande. Take the first sip of the broth before digging in- the layers are divine. You can smell the goodness wafting from the pots behind the counter. Que rico!
