Stellar Khmer bbq / soup spot tucked away in a courtyard off an alley. Lovely service, quality fresh ingredients and incredibly flavorful food - overall excellent value for money. Be aware there is good signage for Khiem Khan on the street, but the name on the shingle hanging outside the entrance is different. That said, it’s the only outdoor restaurant on that alley, so should be easy to find! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Recommended dishes Barbecue

Totally fine. The beer was on the warm side but hey, this is Laos! Considering the price (150,000 Kip for 2 people) and location, you really can’t ask for more. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Best dinner in Luang prabang. It is Laos style bbq and full of locals during dinner time. Very similar to thai mookata. Veggies are really fresh and good price. Recommend to get mix set and add more meat or vegetables if you are hungry.
Awesome sindat. Meat quality was very good and fresh. Staff was extremely helpful and attentive. They spoke good English. The charcoal grills are very nice creating a great atmosphere and perfect cooking grills for food. Soup is not too strong tasting which is nice. Vegetables are fresh. The shop is located a bit off main road so more intimate. Great place to enjoy sindat/mookata. Highly recommended! And good price especially price/quality ratio. The best meal we had in Luang Prabang! This place combines two of the best things in the world - hot pot and BBQ. This was our first time eating Lao style bbq hot pot and the owner was so kind to show us how it’s done. Very local and tasty restaurant. For 3 people, we ate one beef/pork dish with a noodle/veggie platter and shared 1 big Beerlao. Total cost was $60,000 kip which is very affordable.

Hands down, this was our favorite restaurant in Laos. We spent a month in Luang Prabang and only returned to this place...like 5 times! This is a very local spot as we were the only Westerners ever to sit down. There always was a table available, even though each night most of the tables were occupied by locals. It is down a side street and not well marked, which might explain its “hidden gem”-ness. Our first visit, the owner helped us order and showed us how it worked. He was wonderful. They have all sorts of thinly sliced meat, chicken, pork, beef that you grill yourself over hot coals. (Sort of like Chinese hot pot, only you GRILL - so good) ..and the sauce. Oh the sauce! Our meals at this Lao BBQ restaurant were so TASTY and a VERY welcome break from all the noodle and rice dishes you find in Laos. (We love those too..but this much healthier option was delightful. :) If you are in LP, you MUST go.

Awesome seen dat (Lao Barbecue) restaurant. Seemed to be popular with locals. The owner was brilliant, walking us through our first go at seen dat. The food was delicious, really good value and a lot of fun to make. Definitely worth a visit.

After having a disappointing Lao BBQ experience on the Mekong waterfront, I ended up at this spot for another shot. What a difference! The server showed me exactly how it's done. She gave me the proper tools for a fantastic and memorable meal! I had thin sliced beef (or buffalo?) and bacon as meat options to grill. Also included was a soup bowl (the broth makes more sense now!) And delicious pickled veggies, garlic, chilies, and lime to customize. Just be smart and avoid cross-contamination of raw meat and cooked ingredients. Just be open-mined and thoughtful! It was a fun and immersing experience and I felt much more of the local spirit. Plus it was 20,000 kip cheaper! Must try for the adventurous... Absolutely delicious!
