We went on Saturday at 430. We called ahead and only waited 5 min. The chef was funny and entertaining. Food was delicious and plenty of left overs. When we left around 6 the placed was packed. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great meal and experience for our large family! Next time, we will call for reservations. We arrived at 1pm and they stop lunch at 1:30pm. We had to wait an hour and we missed the lunch deals. I don't know what happened, but the food is different. Under seasoned or something. The soup changed and not for the better. There's noodles in it now and it's soft and starchy instead of salty broth. They didn't get my husbands order right at all, which has also never happened before. I saw signs on the door like management has changed...we won't be back for a while. The cook did a great performance and he was friendly. That was really the only good part of our experience today. Just wanted to say we came tonight for my son's 4th birthday. And our chef, Kevin, was absolutely outstanding. He made sure our son had so much fun. He was very interactive with the whole family but made it extra special for Hunter. So I wanted to say Thank you for making tonight so fun! Food was outstanding as well! Good food. but had reservations at 6:30 and didn’t get seated until 7:30 bathrooms are very nasty… waitresses were not very nice they rushed everyone at our table including other tables around us. not one single person got refills we asked 3 times for refills and it took 30 mins just to get some after we were finished eating. the only good thing about this place is the cook and the food. First trip in years. It's either under new management or ownership now because they actually answer the phone and take reservations where it was impossible to get them to answer the phone before. Went around 3pm, they were alot of people there but all tables were not full. Our waitress was awesome, happy, nice, attentive to our table, she wore a mask but you could see the smile in her eyes. Chef was not as entertaining as my previous visits but he was still good. Food was really good, soup, salad, rice, steak, shrimp and chicken. We will definitely be back. This was our first time coming here to Kanpai of Tokyo. I have always loved watching my food being cooked in front of us. We went on a date here but will definitely be returning. Its a nice, very friendly and clean restaurant. You get plenty of food for your money and they cook it how you want it. They do the usual egg toss tricks and all. I recommend you giving them a chance to cook for you! The steak and scallops were so good and the food overall was definitely worth it. Two very small complaints and nothing big the miso soup was very salty and unique having big noodles in it, kinda reminded me of chicken noodle soup. And the fire, the fire was huge and cinched a few of my eye brow hairs. So maybe little less for next time would be great. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

we made our reservation for 7:30 got there lobby was full of people, groups that had 6;30 reservations. once we finally got to the table the waitress took our order gave the drinks to the wrong people guess that should have been the first clue. once the cook came i noticed that the zucchini, onion,mushrooms where all already cut up together i told the cook i don't eat onions or mushrooms plus ask where my side of broccoli was as i noticed it wasn't on his cart he said did you tell the waitress, yes i ordered an extra side of broccoli and where did it say i need to tell her i don't eat mushrooms and onions, sat thru most of the meal with no drink an once the waitress come back the cook finally ask for my broccoli which i get after my meal is cooked and done plus to top it off was charged for it. be aware it your a group of 4 or more your charged a tip of 18% it doesn't matter if your not giving drink refills, food you ordered. Food tasted great and we were given generous portions. On the downside, service was slow today on our Sunday lunch visit. Our sushi and egg roll appetizer came out after chef was cooking our main entree. Restaurant dining room and bathrooms were not as clean as I expected.
