We came here on a Friday night and we didn’t have to wait very long at all to be seated. The staff was friendly and the food was good. I ordered Tacos Al Pastor- the food portions are so generous! Without a doubt the absolute best Mexican restaurant I have ever experienced; in every way. The service was top notch. The food... The food was incredible!! I ordered the steak fajitas, wow amazing flavor! They brought out our food very fast. Down to the strawberry lemonade I ordered it was hands down the best Mexican food I've ever had. I highly recommend this place to anybody in the Bellingham area looking for a place to eat. I would give this place 10 out of 5 stars if I could. We went here after an event and it was highly disappointing. We were there for 45 minutes before being able to order. Any request we had, we had to flag the server down because he never came to check on us. When our food arrived, it was okay. Then I took a bite of my toastada, and it was freaking raw! It tasted terrible, and the server tried to tell me it wasn't raw but took it off the check without me asking because we BOTH knew it was. I had ground beef in my other taco, and it didn't look like that. So the same meat looks different in a different tortilla? Fat chance. We will NOT be returning to this location. Mi Mexico will continue to have my business because they care about the quality of their food and service to their patrons. Do better. We love this place and have visited many times. I enjoy the ambiance and energy of the downtown Jalapenos location. I like to start with a cup of their unique take on chicken tortilla soup. It's a thick soup with a perfect blend of stringy cheese, soft avocado, shredded chicken, and crunchy tortilla strips. Their margaritas are always spot on and my chicken quesadilla was delicious in its simplicity. Our server was genuinely authentic, friendly, and delivered great service. First-time visitors from California so our expectations are pretty high. This restaurant was had friendly staff, with a nice colorful decor and views of the water, which are always a plus. I ordered green enchiladas (shrimp and fish) and they were very good, my husband had the chile rellenos and he stated that they were amazing. We are a family of five with children of all ages and they we all very pleased with the food and service as well. I can not forget the cocktails, the Mojito was great too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

To start I will cover the chips and salsa. Chips were just normal chips but the salsa was on point. My wife got the ribeye tacos. They were good but the meat lacked seasoning so the corn tortillas over powered the meat. I had the beef Chipotle enchiladas. They were also really good and the plate was packed. We couldn't finish our plates. We will be going back.

Food is quick....almost too quick getting to your table. It's good food though!!! They do upcharge for every drink and food item, dine-in, carry-out, or delivery an additional 3٪ for kitchen services. According to their staff, it's a charge to cook your food. I have loved visiting Jalapeños since I was old enough to drink attending Western. If you have some time, and a driver, do yourself a favor and get the big mama, you will not regret it! What’s the big mama you ask? Oh, it’s just a margarita the size of a punch bowl (size slightly exaggerated for affect). It’s got plenty of booze and they do an amazing job of making taste incredible. Their food is great as well, especially their chips and salsa. I highly recommend their fajitas and their bacon wrapped shrimp.
