Very clean store. Well stocked
Good place to go when you need a few things or for emergencies, however I had the experience of listening to the store manager complain and curse very loudly while customers were in the store, another employee apologized for his behavior and actions.
This is a nice store to have in this town when you're in a pinch and don't want to drive to Walmart in the next town. It's your typical, very small, in a very small town, food store. Where selection is very slight and prices are very high. Like any other store that has no competition and has higher prices, you certainly wouldn't want to do the bulk of your shopping here unless money is no object or you have no other choice. I took one star off because of the crazy high prices. Some of them are just too ridiculous to even begin to understand why anyone would think THAT much inflation on that product could even be ok to charge a fellow human being.
It's not too smart that your employee Joan, has been telling everyone around town, who broke into your store.
l was in there today. What a cute little store. Most rural communities this size are lacking these local grocery stores. While it may not be as inexpensive as those, "Big-Box retail outlets," it's very easy to see the local pride that this store provides. I'll make this a part of my, "Shop Local," experience.
Love HOMETOWN FOODS! Always shop at Gladbrook and Traer locations. Went to Conrad and needed to get a few items. Naturally, I went to HOMETOWN FOODS friendly staff and fair prices. Love em!

It's a very small store with not a wide variety of items but that can be expected for a small town store. The one thing I didn't really like is that instead of marking items down a little bit before they expire to get rid of them, they mark them down after they expire. If it were just a few days it would be one thing, but there were dairy products close to a month past date. Beware of "reduced" items
Hometown Foods is a high priced store. A lot of the sale prices things are all right but they seem to never order enough to keep it in stock.
Great people ! Having trouble getting their products in but all they can do is send in the order they don't load the trucks !
