So yummy! Thanks for letting me in for this cute family run yakiniku! Reasonable price for amazing meat. Love the staff they are just very nice and kind to me, as a solo traveller. Wish to come back when I visit Aso next time! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

Visited Hikoshan restaurant on a rainy and cold night without advanced booking , the restaurant was full . The lady owner told us that the whole restaurant was full in good English . We told her that we had been driving for some time to look for a dining place but in vain for a lot of the restaurants were closed . The lady was so kind that she drew us a map to direct us to another place ( later we had a marvelous and delicious dinner there ) which was 15 min driving away even when her whole restaurant was full and she was very busy servicing her customers. She even ran out of the restaurant and point us the direction where to drive . She was such a kind and lovely lady . Thank you very very much . In the future, we will definitely be back and enjoy a dinner in Hikoshan .

I recently visited Hikoshan Yakiniku in Aso and had an outstanding dining experience. The old lady owner greeted us with a warm smile and her fluency in English was impressive. It made communication smooth and enjoyable. The highlight of the meal was the local wagyu beef, which was incredibly tender. Each bite was filled with rich flavor, showcasing the quality of the beef. The pork belly was also exceptional, with its perfect balance of meat and fat, creating a delightful texture. It's worth noting that the restaurant can get busy, so it's advisable to arrive before 5:30pm to secure a table. However, even if you miss the early timing, making a reservation is definitely worthwhile to ensure you don't miss out on this incredible dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Hikoshan Yakiniku for its friendly service, delicious wagyu beef, and mouthwatering pork belly. It's a gem of a restaurant in Aso that deserves a full five-star rating.
