Hífen, a trendy eatery in Cascais, offers a fusion of Portuguese and international cuisine that is both creative and delicious. The ambiance is lively and upbeat, with friendly staff who provide attentive service. The interior design is minimalist and contemporary, with a sleek and stylish decor that is perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic evening. Prices are reasonable, considering the quality of the food and the location. Hífen is located on the quayside, providing diners with stunning views of the coastline. One of the establishment's standout dishes is the Galician octopus with sweet potato, which melts in your mouth. Other recommended dishes include the pork, beef, prawns, and tuna crudo. For cocktails, the sangria and peanut butter parfait are a must-try. The wine list is small but well-curated, featuring local and international options. Hífen offers outdoor seating on small balconies with space for two or three people, making it an ideal spot for a romantic dinner. The establishment also has a bar area where patrons can enjoy drinks and tapas-like plates. Overall, Hífen is a fine dining spot that delivers on both quality and creativity, making it a must-visit for anyone in Cascais.

Delightful find while looking for lunch in Cascais. Their Iberian pork dish was sooo savory and tasted so good. The shoestring fries in the cod a la bras was also delicious, though they were thinner than I would have liked them to be. The presentation is also beautiful and the restaurant itself is lovely - nice lighting and great views of the sea. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

This place wasn’t bad for the price. They had a wide selection of seafood items. Seemed like it was somewhat a fusion experience. I ordered the squid which had squid + clams with a side of rice. Wasn’t bad for the price. Our waitress was super friendly but the man who sat us seemed flustered. At first everyone was pretty attentive but after we sat a larger crowd flooded in so it was harder to get someone’s attention. Like my partner ordered a side of rice but ended up with fries. He ate it anyways and it was still tasty. The place was beautifully designed. Had extra seating upstairs and outside. Their bathroom is located down stairs. Overall, wasn’t bad experience for a random pop in. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €15–20 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
We had great squid tempura and beetroot tartare. We ended with a lovely rice pudding tart. We went in with no expectations and were blown away! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €25–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Came here for a late lunch with my family on a Sunday at around 2 PM. The restaurant has two floors and it was still pretty packed at that time. We wanted to try a bunch of different things so we decided to share everything amongst 6 people. We asked our waiter (who was awesome - wish I remembered his name) for some recommendations and he did not lead us astray. This is everything we ate: -Beet root soup - we all wanted to try this but didn't each want a whole bowl of it, so we ordered 3 of them and they were nice enough to split it into 6 separate cups. This was not my favorite because it had a bit of bitter aftertaste -Croquettes - we ordered one smoked ham and one pork sausage. Each order comes with 4 croquettes, so it was a good amount to just try it out. I liked the pork sausage one. The smoked ham was a little too smoky for me -Pica Pau Veal (Mustard Sauce, Cucumber Pickle, Garlic, Basil & Sweet Potato) - I'm not sure if I loved the mustard sauce. Perhaps it was too much of it. Maybe it would have been better if they left it as a dipping sauce on the side? The veal itself was really good though. It was so tender -Octopus Lagareiro's Style (Potato, Avocado, Sugar Snap Peas & Parsley) - this was one of my faves. Everything just tasted so fresh and the octopus so soft -Garlic Prawns - this was probably my other favorite dish of the meal. It was super garlicky and flavorful. I also like that they leave the heads on because that's the best part of the shrimp -Fried Codfish Pancakes - this comes topped with an egg yolk that they spread across the pancakes for you. It also comes with a side of chorizo and beans you're supposed to eat with the pancake. The pancake was just okay. I wasn't a huge fan of the texture. I also wish there was more chorizo with the beans -Tuna à Café (Jerusalem Artichoke, Ginger, Shallot, Chives, Egg, Black Garlic, Kale, Worcestershire Sauce e Togarashi) -this was a nice dish. I liked the plantain chips (?) it came with. It was a unique twist For drinks, they have some pretty interesting cocktails. They have your classics but they also have some house special ones. I had the Speachless (Infusion of Vodka and Rhubard, Apricot Liqueur, Rhubarb & Lime) and hubby had the Pink Starburst (Plantation Fiji, Pink Dragon fruit and Rhubard Shrub & Lime). While I probably wouldn't order either of them again, it was unique and I appreciate that. Overall, we had a great meal and we were all stuffed. Definitely a good restaurant if you want to try out some unique/fresh dishes (and that are super reasonably priced)!
Very nice place with delicious food. High level Srevice they offer makes you want to try all food they serve. Its not cheap but its worth to spend some money for the dish they will bring you 😉 Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €25–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Tried 5 things on the menu and by far the most memorable flavours in Lisbon!! Every bite I took, I wanted to cry because of how good it was! The best thing I’ve eaten in Lisbon was their Veal pica pau. I love to eat, and I’ve eaten all over Lisbon for 10 days. I’ve travelled all over the world to eat in different countries. I’ve been to 5 star Michelin restaurants in Paris, Spain and London….not one of them blew my mind like their veal dish. The food here is sooooooo special! their flavour combos are so creative and insanely good. Price is also good for the quality. Service is great! Cocktails are also so good and well balanced. Their chocolate walnut dessert was also very good. I’ve been dreaming about the veal for 3 days. Literally going to take the train tomorrow for 45 mins just to get their veal. And I am a lazy person.. that says A LOT. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €45–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I’m still thinking about my food at this place. We were so lucky to get a table upstairs by the window with an incredible view. Our waiter was lovely and made our experience that much better. He recommend the tuna sandwich which was delicious and we also had a salad and a fish dish. The dessert was unreal. Absolutely phenomenal food and a great restaurant in the heart of beautiful Cascais! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

For our one night in Cascais we chose Hifen for dinner and it did not disappoint. The staff were kind and chatted with us, enhancing the experience and helping us feel at home. But the food and cocktails were absolutely amazing. We had the gazpacho to start, followed by burrata, snapper crudo and pica Pau veal. Highly recommend!
