Nice upgrade on the previous cafe/restaurant. Set in the Stodels Nursery with plenty to see and do. A kids paradise surrounding the restaurant with play area, a small animal farm and much more.
The restaurant itself has mostly outdoor seating and would be a best option on non rainy days. Nice menu and the food is good. Service was good and over all a lovely spot to stop for tea and scones, sandwiches or a larger meal.

The restaurant was quite bustling, but it seems the attraction lies more in its extensive play area for children and a few farm animals rather than its food quality. We ordered a Beef Burger, a Chicken Burger 🍔, a Cappuccino, and an Americano ☕. The drinks were excellent, and while the beef burger was satisfactory, it fell short of its promised 200g portion size and didn't elicit any remarkable praise. Unfortunately, the chicken burger was a letdown – dry and challenging to cut through. Although it was well-presented, it lacked flavor.
Our waitress provided reasonable service, despite a somewhat lengthy wait for our drinks. She was friendly, delivered our food relatively promptly, and checked on us during our meal, which was a positive aspect.👍
Regrettably, the animals on the premises left a somber impression, evoking feelings of sadness.

Now, addressing a matter that urgently requires attention – the state of the bathrooms was appalling. They were unclean, with urine on the seats and floors, an empty soap dispenser, and dirty basins. Immediate action is needed in this regard.
Considering these factors, I am uncertain about returning for a second visit. If you seek a place where your young children can play while consuming food that is less than fantastic, you might want to give it a try.

What a WONDERFUL and surprising experience. I had the wagyu burger and two pizzas, both of which were some of the most delicious pizza Ive had in Cape Town. The waitresses were super friendly and accommodating. Every now and then a rooster comes to visit you, the rooibos milkshake was excellent as well. Would definitely go again.

My very brief experience at the restaurant can be summarised as disappointing. We (my husband, son and I ) arrived to a fairly busy restaurant during lunch time. We were greeted and selected our own table. The table had 2 chairs I proceeded to grab a 3rd chair myself, I had no problem with grabbing my own chair, but would have felt a lot better if a waiter had offered to do this for me.
I sat down while my son and husband headed off to the play area. At least 5mins went buy numerous waiters walked pass me but no one checked in to ask if I was okay or needed anything.
A lady arrived and sat at a table about a meter away from me, She was offered a menu and within a minute a waiter arrived to take her order.
Eventually after another 5mins of waiting I flagged down a waiter to ask for a menu, which was provided to me, as soon as he gave me the menu, the waiter disappeared.
Around me people were settling their bills and receiving drinks and food orders and I sat there hungry and waiting. Another 10mins went by and I decided to get up and leave.
Sadly we had to find a meal somewhere else and my sons playtime was cut in half
This was such an unpleasant experience, so many waiters walking by and not taking a minute to acknowledge my presence.
We hosted our sons birthday at the good thyme cafe in Milnerton and it was amazing with great service and food. The Bellville branch however does not come close to this. Very disappointing!
THE GOOD:
The Food...
A menu with a different variety. Not the same old boring dishes, especially the breakfast menu👌 I was so enticed by the vegan dish with the falafel, avo, duka & tahini. I thoroughly enjoyed it! And I love my meat👊
The wife had the chorizo rosti, poached egg, and hollandaise & sourdough👌
Even though it was super busy and packed - the kitchen still delivered the intricate dishes👊⭐️
With a bit of tweaking - the dishes would be absolutely superb and refreshing!
The atmosphere is relaxed.
Loads of play areas for the kids
The Service...
They where understaffed, clearly.
Our waitress who was meant to be the front of house hostess, jumped in and did her best and delivered as best she could as a waitress⭐️
The manangeress checked on us and explained the situation...
The Not So Good....
They were clearly overwhelmed and understaffed.
At one stage kitchen staff brought out the food. At least it was still hot food!
We ordered drinks when we arrived but got served after our meals.
They were out of stock of quite a few items.
Mainly operational issues.
Still not sure how we feel about the animals...
Will we return - for sure!

My family and I came to enjoy breakfast at your Cafe. It took more than 5 minutes for a waitron to attend to us, the drinks took over 10 minutes the food another 20 minutes after that. It did not seem to be extremely busy. My wife and I requested extra sourdough with our omelets It only came after I had finished my food and was cold. All in all it was not a great experience.

Place has a new name. Not sure if it has new owners too. But the service is shocking as per the old place. 40 min wait for a toasted sandwich, 2 burgers, and chicken strips and chips. Food is okay. Chips were under cooked. Not a manager in sight. Even when asked for they never pitched. I wouldn't recommend this place. Pity, because they have a captive audience with the jungle gyms. Could do really well if it was better run.
Service was OK despite the taxi strike. Cappuccino was good but wrap was disappointing. Roast butternut and beetroot should have had tons of flavour but had none. Miss the previous restaurant.

What a Joke! You ask please wait to be seated then when you do everyone else walks past you and they just get helped by waiters and get tables. What is the point?
