Food I love you is another Joburg surprise. Its hidden in the far corner of the Old Fort on Constitution Hill. This is where those who choose to hope, gather around large tables, linger, connect, while appreciating flavours, conversations, textures and taste combinations. The venue is the refurbished prison kitchen. Food is served on “african crystal” (aka enamel bowls). But instead of being a place of hardship. Took a friend for lunch and had seen the beautiful pics of this restaurant and I'm always up for trying and supporting new restaurants. But they don't answer their phones! I wanted to know about parking. Anyway got all the way there and we were turned away at the door because there was a private function. Guys if you want to run a business, stay on top of communications!! Service: 1

Really great food but really hidden away from the Constitutional Hill precinct. Not wheelchair friendly access - hopefully they address as just simple ramp would resolve the issue (didn't notice wheelchair friendly bathroom!) Fantastic place! Did not have high expectations for a restaurant located in Constitution Hill old fort/prison, but was so pleasantly surprised. Food was a mini-buffet - pay by weight. Everything I tried was fresh and wonderfully seasoned. Great chill atmosphere. Staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend a visit whether you are touring Constitution Hill or not.
