A must visit if you are in Kampot, located on Fish Island. The lady who runs the place is very kind, friendly and has a heart of gold. She cares for and teaches impoverished children from the local community the skills they need to be able to have better opportunities in life. We chatted for a while whilst enjoying some delish drinks which were prepared by the children themselves. Please visit - this is for a really amazing cause. FICAC is a school, creative workshop, home and support center for extremely impoverished salt farm children and orphans. It's also home to Fish Island Records. A small recording studio where audio magic is made. The kids learn more than basics. They learn to dream and create! Thus gaining confidence and skills to pursue higher education and better lives. Kek Soon the founder, is the good mother to these kids. She has given her entire finances and more to slowly building this oasis in the salt farms brick by brick. She's making a difference in lives. Julien Poulson, Cambodia Space Project creator is also knee deep in the mud. He and Kek Soon fund everything almost completely alone. If you visit Kampot Cambodia, and want to see the real Cambodia that's not on the tourist map; visit FICAC. It's worth the 15 minute tuk tuk ride. I promise your heart will be touched. Disclosure: Julien and I are friends through our musical endeavors. One of which was a small fundraising concert at FICAC last weekend. Perhaps you can come to the next one so that we can actually raise a little money. Photos of concert below. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

FICAC is such an inspiring place - worth visiting and supporting! Kek and Julien set up this initiative to empower local people from disadvantaged backgrounds, organising free training in cooking, painting, music, languages, and much more ☺️
FICAC is run by a lovely lady who invests her time and efforts into improving the lives of local girls from the area. She’s teaches transferable life skills to the kids to help them succeed. We stopped by for food (at a very reasonable price) in the Karma cafe and it was delicious, it all was prepared and served by the girls at a high standard. It is really easy to get to and only a short drive from the city centre, definitely worth popping by to check them out! Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Recommended dishes Watermelon Juice
Fabulous venue with delicious food and drinks. I highly recommend Kek Soon's quesadillas and the Bong Calling cocktail. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person ៛5–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
(Thanks to getting lost in Fish Island) We visited FICAC for an hour and had a lovely chat with the founder (Kek Soon) - a kindhearted and amiable woman. The ambience is outstanding and drinks are superb. Hope this place will continue to flourish and inspire others who come. Service Dine in Meal type Other
We were driving around Fish Island and came across Kek’s place so we stopped for lunch. The food was great, the service was very professional but the best part was our one-hour conversation with Kek who told us her story and why she created this place. We discovered a truly inspirational woman who started from nothing and is now building a very special place to help kids and young people from Kampot, teaching them useful skills so they can seek independance when they grow up. If you are in Kampot, be sure to go there and support her work!
