My friend and I stopped by here for lunch on Saturday and we had the calamari and the sushi lunch combo. The calamari dish had jalapenos and fried garlic which made it spicy (if you eat the jalapeno) and was a nice touch. The sushi with the combo was so filling. The sushi size was bigger than other places and it also came with miso soup. The ambiance was very cool too. The only downside was the parking. Simple yet complex!! Such a comfortable atmosphere with full service bar and happy hour to compliment the experience! I chose to sit at a booth as I was stopping through for an early dinner. Skylar tended to my needs and was efficient with food and refills on my tea. Her knowledge was helpful because there was so many amazing combinations of signature rolls and entrees to choose from. It was my first experience with a riceless roll. I wish I had found this place earlier in my travels because there is so many wonderful delectables to come back for. I highly recommend Edo Japan to everyone. My new staple all other sushi will be measured against. Stopped here while in Texas and it was delicious! I ordered sushi and shrimp fried rice! I got my food to go and I think I ate all the sushi before I pulled off! The shrimp fried rice was delicious and there was shrimp in every bite ( a lot of rice with plenty enough shrimp) ! It was enormous I had enough for the next day! Even though I didn’t eat in I was there during happy hour and it looked like a chill vibe! The place was clean and the guy that took my order was extremely nice! Oh I got some eel sauce for my sushi and yum yum sauce for my shrimp fried rice! I will definitely be back! Oh I had the miso soup and I usually pour some over the top of my rice…whew flavorful! Sushi fish had bad . Let the server know that the fish tasted like it was old and was un-eatable. He said ok so you don't like it? I told him yes I don't the fish taste old. He then asked if I wanted a to go box. My husband’s lobster was so over cooked it was chewy. Won't be returning. The tempura was good though. Hands down the best sushi experience I’ve had out here in Houston. The portions are great, the prices are great, and the flavor is… just wow. I’m usually not even big on sushi. My friend and I visited this location today. Let me just get straight to the point. The service was absolutely horrible to the point we had to ask another server to intervene. Even though the service was horrible we still left a 10 dollar tip. After returning to our car my friend gets a ping from his bank saying our bill was 140. And that was the issue. Our check was only 115. With the tip it would have been 125. We didn't understand where the extra was so we went back inside and asked to speak with the manager. Of course no one could locate her so we explained our situation to the bar tender who immediately reached in his pocket and gave us a 20 dollar bill. We were so upset that we just walked away. Im only saying this cause it's a horrible feeling to feel ripped off. We honestly wanted our tip back as well but that's another story. It really sucks to feel like now they have been doing this to other customers as well because I never actually go to my statement and look I just assume that I'm being charged what I'm shown. The place is in a dire need of a paint job. The table I sat at had filth on the seat and back. You could see the unprofessional caulk job done on the table and windows. The windowsills were bubbling from poor maintenance. I had to ask my waiter twice for a drink. That is after he took my drink order 20 minutes ago. This is definitely not the place to go to eat sushi. Maybe the other items on the menu are more appealing. The avocado in the sushi I ordered was brown due to poor maintenance or freshness.
