Dont follow the road maps shows instead when you pass through the bridge where it shows Kavarna direction follow that otherwise maps takes you to strange places.
Turists, DO NOT GO HERE!! Farmer is new owner, it's privat propperty. He will be mad if you park next to the mansion under the trees to visit. The trouble isnt worth it!

Situated in valley with a river Sora running nearby. Its an old mansion from the 19 century that was once home of a well known slovenian writer and politician Ivan Tavčar. Today it holds a museum and a coffee shop. Very nice area for a walk in the nature. You can also visit the writers tomb on the property.

A country manor from the 17th century surrounded by hills and forests close to the Poljane Sora river. The property, formerly owned by the Kalan family, became known as Tavčar Manor at the start of the 20th century, named after the Slovenian writer and politican Ivan Tavčar. The impressive manor and its former owners, the Kalan family, were a source of inspiration for Tavčar's historical novel 'Visoška kronika' (The Visoko Chronicles). Alongside the former residental building, where today there is a permanent exhibition and a wonderful wedding hall, there is an expansive outbuilding with typical double hayracks, known as 'toplar'. On the edge of the forest, Tavčar had a chapel erected with the family tomb, where he himself is also buried. Nearby there is also an imposing bronze statue of the writer, which faces towards his birthplace – Poljane. The unspoilt nature in the surroundings are ideal for walking or cycling.
Interesting grand peaceful place with a small galleries and a bar/ coffie shop.nice monument of Ivan Tavčar, slovenian writer, polititian and humaniterian. A place to see and relax.
