Somerville Museum can be on your route by default, the guests' recommendation is to visit this restaurant. Dumpling Kitchen serves Chinese cuisine. The recipe for success of this place is its perfectly cooked pork soup, crab rangoon and shrimp dumplings. A lot of people point out that waiters offer tasty pancakes here. Good bubble tea, americano or juice are the best drinks of this spot. Food delivery is a big plus of this restaurant. Most reviewers note that the staff is energetic at this place. Professional service is something guests appreciate here. Affordable prices are to be expected at Dumpling Kitchen. But this place is not highly appreciated by Google users who provided it a below average rating.

Ordered this for take out and was so pleasantly surprised! I was looking for shanghai pork buns and this was one on the only places near me with them :) we also got pan fried noodles and green beans with chicken. All were really well seasoned and the textures were great for take out food. Either the food has changed or people are too harsh in these comments because I would 100% order from here again :) Service Delivery Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The worst Chinese food I have ever ordered in my life. The kung pao chicken was so salty I couldn’t taste anything but salt, the pieces of chicken were fatty and had skin attached, the crab Rangoon had what tasted like Philadelphia cream cheese and that’s all inside, dumplings were meh, the frozen ones from Trader Joe’s are better, house fried rice was disgusting. Good luck everyone! Service Delivery Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100
Edamame is good and we often get a few. The fried rice is terrible while the general tso's tofu is acceptable. The pineapple fried rice uses a curry base to add flavor to the rice. Instead of seasoning the rice, it seems a curry brick was used as a shortcut to add flavor. It doesn't taste good. Combined with too sweet canned pineapple, the dish is borderline more sweet than savory. At least the portion is huge. The tofu in the general tso's tofu (vegan) is of the fried variety. It is a little tough but the flavor is probably what you'd expect if you order it. There should definitely be more broccoli than the 4 pieces we got. I love this place! My roommate and I stopped in on our walk home and we got an order of vegetable steamed buns and leek dumplings. Food was out in ten minutes and they gave us two extra buns! Literally made my night! Makes the neighborhood :) Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $1–10 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Love this place and drive here almost weekly from a half hour away. While I cannot attest to their soup dumplings, I can say that their shanghai noodles and shrimp dumplings are amazing. The shrimp dumplings are some of the best I've ever tasted and have quality ingredients. Food comes hot and is served quickly. The wonton soup is okay; the actual wontons are amazing but the broth is akin to dirty dishwater. I can live with it though. Its a bit pricey but to me the food is worth it! Calling the dishes we received "Pad Thai" is like calling a plate of boiled noodles covered with ketchup "Spaghetti". Dry rice noodles, virtually no sauce, no sprouts, no vegetables, and barely any protein. I'm talking about at most 2-3 pieces of chicken on one and 3-4 shrimp on the other. The "Hot and Sour" soup was OK soup, and was nothing like what is served be every other Chinese restaurant under the same name. The broth was thin and pinkish. None of the traditional vegetables and no Umami flavor at all. The dinner was adequate. I doubt I'll be a repeat customer. Service Delivery Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 4

Very mixed experience with this food. 3-stars because 1 dish was amazing and the other was really bad, so I am giving the benefit of the doubt that it was just the circumstance. The bao buns were really good imo. The bread was nice - fluffy and sweet and the filling inside was yummy. The General Tso's chicken, however, was so bad. No meat at all with any bite and was basically just fried... something? Also, the flavor was not good. I ordered this really late at night, so they may have been using the pieces at the bottom of the package and ordering at that time might just produce said quality. Also, there's no rice that comes with the GTC, which I'm used to, so that was a surprise. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30

Over the decades, as Yummy Hut & then Dumpling Kitchen, this was a solid, cheap, convenient choice. Then a few years ago they forgot how to cook. Mala Beef was so salty my teeth buzzed. Figured that was just a one off mistake, and tried again a few months later. Same thing. So we didn't order there again for 2 years. I gave them another chance. This time, the 2nd worst Chinese food of my life. Won't go back until there's a big banner out announcing a new cook. Whoever paid for all these fake reviews should have told them there's no dining in. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
Called to place an order to pick up. (Read reviews of having delivery issues so decided to pick up instead) Had no issues with that. The food was delicious! 4 stars because the wonton soup had a strong smell which i think was because of the brown leafy thing/ sea weed or whatever it is, they put in their soup. It didn't effect the taste of the soup thankfully. I also ordered 2 boba teas and this is the first time ever enjoying tapiocas because these were soft and easier to digest. Not too sweet either. Will order again in the future!
