I ordered slow-cooked pork, and my friend ordered Salmon. I rate pork 3 stars and salmon 5 stars. We ordered a margarita which was awesome, smooth and strong enough, I definitely will try that again. guacamole taste is so natural, they made it in front of you. lastly, the fries were extra crispy as I requested. The food was really good. I love the kid's menu. The staff was very friendly. I love the chips and salsa. The guacamole tasted fresh and good. If you like spicy the habanero sauce is amazing. Chipotle was good too. My kids love the food and the decor. I love the music however the area where I was seating the speakers was on the opposite side. Overall a great experience. This place is absolutely amazing!! Walked in for dinner and super calm and cozy atmosphere. The waitress was very nice and warned my son that the plate was very hot to not touch it!!! And the food was AMAZING!!!! So we’re the drinks. I got mango juice and quesadillas, the mango juice was very good and not too sweet, very refreshing, and the quesadillas were the best quesadillas I’ve ever had!!! The cheese was go gooey and stringy and the chicken was so good and juicy and tender!!! And it came with homemade guacamole on the side which was to die for, and dipped the quesadillas dipped in the guac was like heaven in my mouth!!!! It's Sunday night, and my husband, father-in-law, and I decided to stop in here for a drink. It was calm, the atmosphere was relaxed, and our bartender was wonderful. I love the decorations near the bars! I highly recommend! Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is a cute little Mexican restaurant in Federal Hill. The ambiance was everything expected and decorated lively. I had two big margaritas and upgraded to top shelf tequila but felt they were lacking a bit and didn't feel fuzzy even though they tasted great. I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla which was great. I saw a couple orders of Portuguese style mussels come out and decided to order those... they were delicious but I paid for it a couple hours later and had food poisoning bad.I do not think this was the restaurant's fault, I may have eaten one mussel that didn't open up during the cooking process and didn't realize it when I was eating them. I would go back and give it another try. The service was great and attentive. On street parking is available. Everything I ate was flavorful and delicious. What an amazing experience. First time there, the environment was very welcoming. Drinks were beyond great, definitely recommend. Food fantastic, and the best part was our waitress, hostess was so friendly and amazing she made our night an even better one. Will be back again soon.

Stopped in for some appetizers and drinks. Have absolutely no complaints about either. The food appeared authentic, was reasonably priced (even for Federal Hill), and tasted great. The only downside is that they offered outdoor seating to us, which we assumed would be in the front on the street, but they then took us around back to an overcrowded little spot in the back parking lot immediately adjacent to a bathroom. Our go-to mexican spot in Prov! We haven't tried any others but we are hesitant to as we don't think anything will compare. Love the atmosphere - cute little spot. It's on the smaller side but that makes it cozy. Love the bar & decor. The food is really good. I always get the beef burrito and they have amazing table-side guac! My family and I ordered soft steak tacos, shrimp/rice and their Caldo de Camarones and fried ice cream. All three meals come with extremely small portions of rice as well as the steak and shrimp/rice dish lacked flavor. My mom did enjoy the Caldo de Camarones so at least that was a good thing. The fried ice cream tasted as though it was nearly frostbite with the frosted flakes being very stale. Our waitress was nice and the ambiance was great. Overall I would give it a 2 at best. The drinks, chips, salsa, food- excellent. This was my 6th visit I think, and it was great. My grandfather is Spanish, and both my dad and him have gone to SO MANY incredible Mexican food restaurants since we lived in CA.. So when my dad gives a glowing review of a place like this, we know it will be excellent; and Don Jose's is.
