The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and informative. [He was fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English and understood - and perhaps could speak - French and German.] The food was a mixed bag. My grilled chicken was delicious, but my wife's cuttlefish was only fair. The fries that came with our entrees tasted fishy; it seems the potatoes were fried in old oil. Kudos to Dom Petisco for being open after having been robbed earlier in the day. There was no wait for a table at 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon in mid October. Nice little restaurant at the sea. Maybe I ordered the wrong dishes so I really don't want to put anything negative. The tuna was not the best choice but the calamari were pretty good. What a place. Seriously, don't let the frontage put you off. Step through the front gate and it becomes a little bit of paradise, it is beautiful the views across the river to Spain are fantastic. We were lucky, as we found it by accident, but we will most certainly be coming back. The food is excellent the service is very good and we wish we had found it earlier in the holiday. My wife had the Iberian pork from the grill and I had the Red Mullet also grilled both came with a lovely salad, and fries with the pork. We were naughty and had a pudding as well, but it was so good. Can't wait to come again.

Last year I went here and would have definitely given a 5, this year the best part of the meal was the sangria. Views are pretty good and the food is good quality but not enough portuguese touch and feel on the dishes, the seafood rice was way too watery and the seafood soup way over cooked. Affordable and worth a go

Some friends and I ate lunch there today. I have eaten in many restaurants in many countries and I hate giving a bad review. So, I will break it down. The food was good and the price reasonable, especially for the location and views which are great. The thing that ruin what should have been a nice lunch with visiting friends was our waiter. Carlito, I think his name was, had he had the opportunity I think he would have thrown our food at us. He must be the rudest, most unpleasant waiter I have ever encountered even to the point of pulling a dissatified face when I asked him for some salt. I don't know what the staff's working conditions are, but the two younger waiters seemed pleasant and treated us as diners with some respect, however, Carlito, if that is your name, you score zero for making our dining experience dreadful. We've been there lots of times. You can't book a table at lunchtime so get there early as it gets busy and that's the only way to get a table overlooking the river.
