The place to be in Soweto if you looking for a vibe day or night DK never sleeps All year round 24/7 Zone 3,4,1 and 6 is where you'll find some cool chill spots and pubs Also great houses in the extension area that can make even a foreign national feel home

If you want to go to soweto but not really deep soweto, but still want the authenticity and vibrancy of soweto I'd suggest Diepkloof there's always so much to do and the people are always welcoming. In terms aesthetics you get a feel of what the rest of soweto looks like to some degree.
