Very typical Portuguese padaria & pasteleria. Always busy and bustling, with lots of freshly baked breads and desserts. It's also the only place (here & their other location in Lagos) that I have found bolas de berlim in any flavour other than egg cream or chocolate. Here they had strawberry! Finally, a place that realises jelly doughnuts are a good thing. And they are popular, I think, because I got the last one that day. Many cakes, and a diversity not found in many other cafés. There is a lot of choice here. There is also a lot of seating, which is great. Staff are attentive and efficient. It really helps to speak at least some Portuguese here, so try. They are nice about it. Also, I really do enjoy the swipe card idea. It makes ordering and paying so easy. Also, at Christmas, they sell some of the best sonhos de natal I have tried so far. Super fresh, perfect lightness and flavour. Delightful. I would give 5 stars if the coffee was better. It is very old-school. Not done like Italians do cappuccino, but rather everything is some variation of galão. Every time I get coffee here, it seems either watery, weak, or way too much milk and lukewarm. So, I do know that I don't speak Portuguese..so whenever I don't understand, I politely offer any other languages such as English, French, German or when I feel adventurous even Italian. Here, from the moment I had to switch, I was made to feel very unwelcome. The sweets were ok, and I guess they could be delightful if only I spoke the language. Until then, we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Very friendly staff, good sandwiches, shame they stopped doing the burgers as they were the best meal option. Just need to renovate their ladies toilet which is the reason for not going there more often. Owners please note! The overall experience of the cafe should be good to ensure repeat business!

Just popped in for a quick sugar rush and the pastel de nata didn't just do the trick, they were devine!! So good.
