Figured that me and some friends would try out some Korean while we were at Tauranga. Broth of the soups were authentic and very flavourful. Spice levels were just right. Fried chicken with Spicy Korean sauce was tender in the inside and still crispy on the outside. Sides were all complimentary. Staff were super friendly (family owned). And you have got to try the Korean coffee. So good.

Best Korean Fried Chicken in Tauranga.
Went here with a group of work colleagues and was very pleasantly surprised. It's a bit of an unassuming place in terms of location and decor but the food is great.
I got the cheese hot dog (pure battered mozzarella cheese by the way), mala seasoned fried chicken and a taro bubble drink. All delicious and the serving size is huge, so didn't need the cheese hot dog in the end. Had to get a takeaway container.
Excellent value for money. Would recommend to anyone to try this place.

Awesome dinner spot right in the city! Super friendly team, delicious Korean food and loved the side dishes too. I ordered the original tteokbokki, generous serving and so many goodies in the bowl. Ordered an iced Korean coffee and it was divine. Wish it didn’t come in a plastic cup though. Wish I could’ve fit in some sweet treats too. Can’t wait to come back! 😍

Dam Da is the only Korean restaurant in Tauranga so we are so lucky to have them!!! They start off by bringing the side dishes free of charge as any traditional Korean restaurant does. The mains all are unique and plentiful. Some dishes have very nice Korean spice so if you enjoy hot, there are dishes that will meet your expectations.
On top of the good food, they offer a wide variety of drinks including my family's favorite, Bubble Tea. This Tea is cold only so if you like warm bubble tea like my family, they will prepare the tea without ice.

I see why this place is so highly rated now!!! The food is extremely delicious. The food is SO well cooked. I've had good chicken katsu before but this was unbelievably crunchy yet very light and amazing, 10/10. I also had the kimchi pancakes which I really liked, 8/10. I got the creamy strawberry drink which tastes absolutely delicious (10/10). They give you sides if I eat in, I don't know what that soup was but I could NOT put my spoon down, I just kept taking bites of the soup even though I wanted to eat the chicken katsu some more. The kimchi was great, the squares that look like potatoes, idk what they are but they're also delicious.
The service was GREAT! You can tell she absolutely cares about the customers, she was basically running to me and back because she felt bad that I had to wait a few minutes. Such a caring person! I can't wait to come back here.
Oh yeah and the day before I got the steamed pot stickers, soooooo good! 10/10.

Absolutely stunned!
As a Korean, I almost cried when I tasted their traditional Korean food, as it reminded my previous life in Korea.
Most their food is very authentic and delicious! You may be reluctant to try some of ingredients if you are not Korean, but I want to say try it!
I went this place twice so far, but I tried most of their food.
Personally, the chicken was just okay, even though still tasty.
However, all other food were amazing.
Especially the side dish is also fresh and tasty with cheap price and the generous portion!
Since we ordered a lot of food, we couldn't try their Korean ice cream after meal, which is a shame.
The price is very reasonable and will try next time =)
I appreciate the owner who brings a real Korean restaurant to Tauranga finally.

Such a great Korean place! So grateful that it exists in Tauranga. Flavours are spot on. I had the stir fried pork belly and octopus. Service is very friendly and quick. Loved the side dishes too.

So good!! This is a new favourite! I’m being legitimate when I say it’s one of the best Korean spots I’ve tried in New Zealand. Definitely coming back! Our food was delicious and service was great 😊 we’ll be back!

The meals were beautifully cooked - not an ordinary taste. The chef definitely knew how to make them all flavourful! Beautiful customer service … the staff knew what we needed… even without us having to ask, she brought all the tongs and plates, and the service and food overall, gave such a rich experience to us all!
