After visiting Gallaudet University Museum, you can look over the menu at this bar. Nicely cooked bun cha and tasty pies will impress you at the first bite. Most likely, you'll return to Cotton & Reed later to order delicious orange rum, liqueur or wine. A lot of visitors order good lemonade, orange soda or tonic. This place is famous for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. You may be surprised by fair prices at this spot. The terrific decor and nice atmosphere let guests feel relaxed here. Google gives it 4.5 so you can select this bar to spend a good time here.

One of my favorite places to visit in D.C. regardless of the season. This rum distillery has plenty of amazing and well-priced drinks, but they are especially known for their slushes. All of them are good, but my favorite is the Cocomotion with Coconut, Pineapple Pandan, and White Rum; however, their swirls are a great option. There is plenty of indoor dining space with two counters in the bar room and a spacious back room that is heated in the winter with a fun disco ball in the center. In the summer, one can sit on the street in a turf setting. There is one bathroom for anyone to All the bartenders are really kind and make great recommendations.

The cocomotion cocktail was legitimately the best rum based cocktail I’ve ever had in my entire life! We had to order 2 of them while we were there! Would give 6 stars if I could for that cocktail alone! The place has slightly pricey cocktails at $14, but it is worth it in my opinion. The pink panther cocktail was good, but not as good as the cocomotion. We also tried the rum flight which was tasty and a good value for the price since you get to try 6 rums for $16!

Awesome distillery and a great variety of rum! Usually not a big fan, but with quality ingredients and little to no added sugar, I’m on board! Definitely recommend you try Cotton & Reed even if you think you’re not a rum person. This ain’t Captain Morgan or Malibu type junk! My one complaint is that after a tasting, my wife and I each received a ticket for 20% off per bottle, but when I went to the counter to get my bottles I was told it was for 20% off for a mixed drink. Just a bad look to bait and switch at the counter when I’ve got a line behind me and you’re not going to knock off a couple bucks, especially after you already got the $ for the tasting. We were in a schedule so we had to leave after the tasting and was told we can hold on to the tickets for next time. We live in PA and don’t get to DC often so I guess they’re basically souvenirs now. :-/

Absolutely great place to visit if you love rum (like I do, being an islander). Grabbed one of their special/ limited edition bottles of rum for the year and must I say, it's amazing. I'll be back for more.

We stopped in because we had the Guide to Imbibe and I'm so glad we did! The bartenders were so friendly and had fantastic drink recommendations! They have great drinks, the vibe/aesthetic is laid back but cool, and their merch is reasonably priced. They don't have a kitchen, but they allow you to bring food in because of that, so it wasn't a huge drawback for us. This was one of our favorite spots we've hit up so far and we can't wait to come back!

Great rum distillery was extensive offerings. Inside and outside seating. Inside is much larger than it appears. Drinks are smooth and cocktails flavorful. Eat before coming as this venue doesn’t serve food. Not a negative but a reminder for those who need it. Bathrooms are accessible and not far from bar so don’t worry about going down or up some creepy stairs. Staff is nice, knowledgeable and patient. As for table payments, it’s done per table via an app and QR code. Factor that in when seating. I went in a Tuesday evening and closed it down per usual because the vibe was chill, playlist nostalgic and the weather was great.

I came here on a drizzling Friday night looking for rum. My companion assured me that, despite the incessant rain, the journey to this distillery would be well worth it. To my relief he was correct. I ordered a drink who’s full name escapes me. It was something “Yacht.” The bartender was efficacious and friendly. The drink was incredible. Easily one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a very long time. And for that I am thankful. 5/5.

Makers of some of the best rum I've ever had. Signing up for the tour/tasting is a surprisingly great bang-for-your-buck since you get plenty of mini-shots, a free ~$15 cocktail, and 20% off any purchased bottles (which you should do). Great activity to do with friends/a date. Price per person $30–50 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Nice spot. Good drinks. It is hard to bring people here as it's rum only and I did have a bartender who wouldn't tell me on a slow night how he made a drink I wanted to buy a bottle of rum for which was an odd sales tactic.
