I recently had the most extraordinary lunch experience at this South African winery! 🍇 The picturesque vineyard views combined with impeccable service made it a memorable visit. 🌞 The diverse menu offered a culinary journey, and each dish was a delightful surprise. 🍽️ From local flavors to international flair, the chef's expertise shone through. 🌍 The quality of the food was matched only by the selection of exquisite wines. 🍷 Every sip complemented the flavors perfectly. The staff's attention to detail and friendliness added to the overall charm of the place. 👏 Not only was the meal exceptional, but the ambiance was enchanting. 🌅 The perfect blend of nature, elegance, and delicious cuisine made it an unforgettable afternoon. 😊 If you're looking for a culinary adventure with a view, this winery is a hidden gem. Highly recommended! 🌟 Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person R 500+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is a very confused restaurant. On the plus side the building is stunning and the view is really incredible. We don’t usually venture this way when we are in Cape Town but the trip was worth it for the view alone. The rest of the concept is confused. It has taken on the style and theatre of the Michelin style restaurants that Cape Town had become famous for (la colombe, fyn, etc) compete with some of their innovations like the blind tasting, but the food itself and the service doesn’t match up. We were provided with a drinks menu but were never asked if we wanted a cocktail or glass of champagne before the food started coming (which is just poor business as this is usually where restaurants make their money) and dishes are cleared at random intervals and before the other person has finished eating. On the food, the raw salmon was especially disappointing and more itsu than cordon bleu. The portion sizes are too big for a tasting menu and the beef short rib and vanilla soufflé were a bit pub lunch for me. That said the chicken liver parfait was excellent and very well put together (if 4 times the size of what we had at Salon earlier in the week) and I enjoyed the onion tart. The wine pairing was good for the food - some of the choices I really didn’t like on their own soared in combination with the food though the “ginger and lime cooler” tasted like undiluted squash. All told a bit of a confused experience. If I were them I’d cut the tasting menu style and just go with a good short a la carte. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Reopened under new management, the location is still wonderful, but inside, it is extremely noisy as it lacks any sound absorbing elements. Food is ok, as is the price you pay, but service is slow and not attentive. Plates are brought to the table but knife and fork are missing or before the previous course is cleared. The restaurant manager does neither care nor apologize. No reason to return to this place. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person R 450–500 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
The entire place unhygienic. This place is so disgusting and dissatisfying. From the entrance instead of being welcomed properly no one showed up, we stood there like lost souls and being buzzed by flies. The restaurant was completely empty and we thought they welcome and walkin without bookings and guess what they told us they can place us at the bar/lounge whatever it’s or at a glass corner where it was packed with flies. The restaurant completely closed and it was still empty no booked people at sight. They told us that people booked since last year already so they can’t give us a table without bookings. We decided to stay till close time to see the honesty in this. Zero people. The service very bad bad bad, we ordered MCC sparkling wine and they brought it to the table and they literally gave us normal wine glasses for champagne of R770 imagine. When we requested for flutes champagne glasses the lady told us rudely we won’t get it here. She poured the MCC and spilled on the table she didn’t bother wiping it off she walked away and continued attending to other guests that were there. She left our bottle uncovered knowing very well the flies would go in. Bathroom was all dirty smelling sies, I couldn’t even use it. No cleaners at sight. We moved away from the glass corner table and went to the bar side. Flies all over and they have dry fish that they leave unattended as display, best believe they served it to people. No respect from the staff, bad service, bad food, environment very hot. We left unhappy the only thing that we enjoyed was the aesthetics although they had a whole community of flies. He had their 4 course meal...n 2 bottles of Chardonnay. The service was out of this world, from the warm welcome by the entrance when we arrived until we left. The food was amazing....we had canapés for our table n their presentation was so elegant and every meal was so tasteful n well balanced. We were offered a free sour bread with homemade butter with a touch of 🍯. Bhekinkosi was very friendly and respectful throughout our stay during our visit....enkosi bafo!!! Lastly, their female 🚺 toilets were so hygienic and they had an emergency kit by the the sink filled with tempons, safety pins n a sawing kit imagine ♥ ♥ ♥ Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person R 500+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Soufflé

With great anticipation we headed up the mountain to Chorus for our last dinner in SA. The restaurant has the best view and great potential but a lot went wrong. Unfortunately we left quite unsatisfied. The entree is spectacular. We were waited up by one of the waiters and were escorted to our table. Waters were served and dietary requirements were checked. One in our group has a severe reaction to onion - which we announced on the Dineplan reservation. This led to quite some unrest among the staff - turned out that a lot of dishes had onion in it. Then the great wait started. We took some pictures in the meantime of the sunset and sat down again. 45 minutes after sitting down we only have had a glass of water. No bread service, no drink or explanation. We asked about what was happening. Turns out the kitchen was trying to figure out what to do with the onion issue. Understandable, but please communicate with us and don't make us come find you all the time. After 1.5 hours after sitting down and asking multiple staff members (of which some announced they were in training) we got our first course. The dishes were nice but not spectacular. It seemed it was more about storytelling than about actual dishes. Good example is the watermelon with avocado crème and grated bokking. The bokking was not noticeable, the avocado crème bland. The main dish, the dry aged beef sirloin & shortrib was good. The absolute highlight of the night was the sommelier. Amorney carried the evening by herself. She has fantastic knowledge, great enthusiasm and the wines truly came alive. The cheese dish is not recommended if you are one of the last tables. We got the scraps that were left. An extra glass of wine was promised to compensate for the long waits but was not given in the end. The rooibos negroni we ordered while waiting for the taxi was delicious. A special mention for the absolutely vile toilets. They were incredibly small, smelled terribly and weren't cleaned for the whole evening. Went to the toilet just before departing and was met with pee all over the toilet seat and towels everywhere since the bin was full. All in all: after previously visited Ouverture which was fantastic this was disappointing. The price is very reasonable but the disorganised staff tainted the experience. Yet another amazing dining experience, we had the 6 course option and every dish was flawless. The amount of skill shown by Chef Marcus and his team was evident and the abalobi fish with cucumber broth and soy dressing was out of this world. The chai spiced souffle was perfection on a plate! Front of house service was impeccable, the staff are incredibly professional and knowledgeable. A memorable birthday dinner and definitely not our last visit. Highly recommend, if we could give 6 stars we would. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Soufflé

Chorus was our restaurant of choice to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. We went for lunch and chose the 6 course option with paring and was served the most exclusive gastronomic delights. The dishes were delectable and tantalised our tastebuds each and every time. It was a perfect setting matching the panoramic views of the mountains, vineyards and the False Bay ocean. Thank you to all at Chorus, your hospitality was superb and we shall return for sure.👌❣ Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Beautiful venue, breathtaking views, but unfortunately the food quality was just not great, comparing to Fyn and La Colombe , Chorus was definitely a low in fine dining, the wine pairing’s collection was amazing. But that was about it. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
Absolutely outstanding experience at Chorus! Menu was inspired and wholesome reflecting Bert's Bassons ethos and spirit. Every dish was elegant and perfectly balanced 👌🏽 The views are also outrageously beautiful here and my only complaint would be that the building is a little cold. However blankets for legs were provided as well as extra heaters. Really attentive and knowledgeable staff who seem genuinely happy to be working there.
