The food is always great but the young man that checked us out was very soft spoken and he was also more interested in his phone then paying attention to the customer. They also waited until the last minute to make rolls and had to wait almost 10mins just to get our 3 rolls. This place can do better. My personal experience this evening was so upsetting. I would first like to comment there was nothing wrong with my food my order was prepped correctly, however to order my food was pain. The young lady at the window was too busy with her headphones in her ear and had me repeat myself multiple time so it all made sense once I came to the window and saw her. She rushed me through my order not allowing me to be specific with what I wanted. As I’m reading the menu she tells they don’t have the amount I requested when clearly it’s on the menu. She had such a bad attitude I lost my appetite. I’ve never had a bad experience until now but why work in fast food if you’re going to have an attitude. Customer service isn’t what it used to be. If people didn’t go to the establishment they wouldn’t have a job. No need to be rude. I worked at the store in weatherford Texas before joining the military. Personally knowing/have known the originators of chicken express…. The Stuart family would stroke out if they saw the condition of this store. Trash everywhere. Nothing clean. Sitting here with not another soul in the dining room and no rush going on at all. Trash cans full. No napkins. This location is sadly the best in San Angelo but is horrific in how the employees upkeep. No ice for our drinks. The first chicken breast had a big section with slimy greasy texture. The replacement breast had absolutely no flavor. During the 20 minutes we were there no less than 3 separate groups complained about their food. They never did get any ice for the drinks. I’ve ate at several Chicken Express restaurants around Texas and this one is by far the worst in customer service. They have no pride in their work what so ever. You can tell they are annoyed with having to server customers. I know writing this review won’t change anything but it makes me feel better by warning others to stay away. I ordered 15 tenders and 2 family size corn nuggets to go and it was spot on. Maybe this place is trying to turn things around I hope. I'll come back and hopefully get the same quality and service. You really never know with these places because it's a high turnover employment place.

When we are craving good fried chicken and we don’t want to go too far, Chicken Express can be the right place. They have a huge servings of chicken... you can have rolls or biscuits with them, their is a good selection of other sides such as fried okra, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese and a lot more, their brewed iced tea is amazing too. If you are in a hurry, their drive thru is pretty quick with your order, unless you are ordering livers of course... for that you gotta wait about 10 mins. The place is very accessible with ample parking if you are dining in.

Very good Chicken Express location, wasn't disappointed. I like that you get to choose your pieces at no extra cost - i.e., your 2-piece dinner can be two breasts, two wings, two drumsticks, two thighs, or any combination thereof. Spotless dining room.

the first part of our late night dinner snack was okay, after that, service went down hill fast. Employee was informed the Dr. P was running out, said idk under his breath and did nothing about it. Instead he had dumped the rest of the nights old sweet tea, about 30 % of a gallon. And walked by table, sat it down and walked off. Since when was old sweet tea anything like a fresh Dr. Pepper fountain drink. He them proceeded to mop the lobby and while we were still eating had the nerve to mop at our table and halfway under it. come on people,. tryin to enjoy my food... After he finished that , around 20mins til closing time, he then told us that he needed to lock up, the store was about to close in few and that we needed to make our way out. well I didn't rush out, I still had 20 mins left to eat, gather my leftovers and my boyfriend still had time to use the restroom, so I thought. I heard him say, "it's closing time, need to lock up and time to go, cause if the people driving into parking lot see ya they will want to come inside as well" about 3 times in matter of couple minutes. By then I was little angry, so I stopped eating, picked up our food to take home, and gathered it up and all our things and I went outside onto patio to wait for my boyfriend, whom wasn't out of RR yet. But as soon as he was, he went outside as well. The employee was right behind him, he wasn't even all way thru door and it was getting locked. Keep in mind, the store still had about 10 mins left. Pitch dark on the dot, 10pm. By 1015 pm the store and the parking lot was totally empty. Not one employee tobe seen... that was the worst dinner I've ever had and think it was our last dinner to eat there or even to get in drive thru. Very bad service after we had gotten food, rushed ,and didn't even or one of us wasn't they eating yet.(me). rude rude rude and very unprofessional... hope he don'take any management positions there, nor any kind of crew leader...
