We went to this place because it was raining and we wanted somewhere close to where we were staying. Highlights and my favs were the kimchi fried rice, venison croquette and the Kim chi set. Service can be a bit slow sometimes but overall friendly staff. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

The place smells as advertised soon as you walk in. Weren't too many people when I visited but they had a pretty chill music selection which helped the vibe. Visited on 30 Mar. It was the nearest Japnese restnt near our hotel and food was fantastic. Staff were friendly and polite, just that food took a while to arrive. There was no hot tea in the manual but I didnt realize. They were nice to exchange it to hot green tea which I needed. Watanabe-San bossu is really kind and generous. Not only was his chargrilled food really awesome, he even has an oden tentage outside his restaurant as well. One of the best foods I've eaten are all from here. There is the "Basasi", horse meat that is super exclusive, unlike those from the supermarket or from the normal kawaguchiko restaurants. Upon trying it your eyes will seriously light up! So long as you know what are some of the rare type of meats there, you will have a super super awesome time there! His staff were also really friendly, professional and welcoming as well. Will always go back to this place whenever I visit Japan. So worth my time! It was good food selection and they use local food. We order 4 dishes and drinks.it was around 5500 yen total. If you order alcohol, they charge small dish for 400yen... but not bad. Pork (1200yen) and Yakitori (1 for 180yen) was really good! Chef is good at recommending something so we ordered horse meet too. It is low and part of Japanese local food!

If you’re looking for a chill place to grab a quick bite because you didn’t make reservations to something fancy in this area, this is your place! Highly recommend the kimchi rice which will taste like nothing you ever eaten in the past but will be absolutely delicious! The place was nice and the food was tasty I was expecting more given the reviews, but ok It could be improved that nobody welcomed us at the entrance of the restaurant and they served the food without giving chopsticks and napkins, so we had to order them Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person ¥2,000–3,000

Very expensive restaurant with bad environment. Restaurant blacked out twice when I was there. I saw the chef handled the food with his bare hands. No cutleries was being provided until I asked them. Restaurant is very understaffed with many uncleared tables after previous customers have left. No air condition and it was super stuffy and hot with the charcoal heat burning in-front of you if you are sitting at the counter. Food was tasty though. Decent food for an okay price. We ordered chicken and the kimchi fried rice. The chicken wasn’t bad, just bland. The kimchi fried rice was better. The dining room was really cold and a little too smoky, and it took a really long time for our food to come. The staff were friendly. If you like simple food and don’t mind smoke, cold, or waiting, then you’d probably like this place.

We were informed of at least a 30-minute wait, so the slow service was anticipated. They seem to be understaffed. You need to have a translator software ready for any kind of communication if you don’t speak Japanese. Food portion was decent and drink menu decent to select from.
