First time there, you can walk around 15 minutes from the port... You can try guacamole, ceviche, micheladas are amazing! You can relax and talk with friends and family. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $100–200 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Ceviche Mixto
Walked over from the cruise terminal with a small group. We tried an assortment of all the foods and everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. Great spot to grab some drinks and spend a few hours away from the cruise crowds. Staff are all fantastic and it feels like you're being welcomed in as part of the family. This is the absolute best thing about stopping at Costa Maya and my number one priority any time I am in town. 6/5 stars. We did a cooking class with Macarena at the Catrina Restaurant. It was fun and Macarena was a very good hostess. We made guacamole and ceviche with tilapia. The only issue I had was I wish they had used a better tasting fish like red snapper or grouper instead of tilapia (that’s why I gave 3 stars for the food). The class also included a half hour massage which was excellent!! Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
First time at Costo Maya and we like to get away from the cruise port. Didn't walk far and found this place. We shared a light lunch of Ceviche de pescado, taco de pescado tempura, taco al pastor and margaritas. Everything fresh and flavorful. Margaritas were definitely lime forward which I mentioned to the waiter so he added a tad more tequila. Really got the mix right second go around. Could not understand why we were the only patrons at 1:30. Otherwise, very nice lunch stop. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
WOWWW. This was an amazing experience and definitely a memorable moment from visiting Costa Maya. We visited on 12/19/20 and we give this 1000/5 stars!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Location: My girlfriend and I were hesitant to walk outside the port area, but this was only a 5-minute walk from the port. It is SAFE! It’s always important to be on your toes when in another country but there was not a moment that we felt unsafe in Costa Maya. There are only ~2000 locals and they are all helpful in pointing you in the right direction. Food: It was delicious, refreshing, and timely. We could see right into the kitchen from the main dining area as the food was being made. I recommend getting the large piña colada because it is delicious and a huge bang for your buck. Service: We loved all of the staff! They were younger individuals (around 20-30s) and very kind. If you do not speak Spanish then that’s okay because the staff speaks amazing English. If you are lucky then you will see the friendly dogs that roam the restaurant. The dogs like to be pet. We did not have any issues paying for the meal or tipping, and our server helped us understand how the peso to dollar conversion worked out. They even wrote the math out on the check to clear up any confusion. Ambiance: When we went, the place was empty. We were shocked after realizing how amazing the entire place is. We went around 1:30pm. Some groups of other tourists trickled in after as we were leaving. It is a laid-back atmosphere that serves authentic Mexican food. The high ceilings and spaced out tables makes for a very comfortable experience. Price: So affordable. We got one fish ceviche, two drinks, and three tacos. Total came to around $35. Conversion for us was 20 pesos to 1 dollar. This was an unbeatable price, especially compared to the port restaurant prices. Cons: Kitchen staff was only at two people when we went, but we were served quick since no one else was in the restaurant. If you go at a busy time and kitchen staff is low, it may take some time to be served. In my opinion, that is okay since the ambiance is lovely. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–100

Sweet people, amazing food, 5 stars isn't enough! A must stop. Puppies are amazing. All the food amazing, chefs amazing. 5 min walk from the port. On a scale of 1-5 would rate an 11. These people made a group of 8 people feel like family. Edit: I'm on it (trip adviser). Thank you for an amazing experience!
