Loveley Owner and the Yorkshire Food was Delicious. What you don't expect when you come in, one stair up there is a roof terrace where you can sit comfortably in front of a tennis court. Thank you for the warm and cordial welcome Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A lovely little place with good food and kind staff/owners. Giving it a 5-star rating because it is lovely the cost and how they charge isn't my favorite. They charge one price for a three course meal, which is €13.50. We asked if we could just pick one course and just pay for that and were accommodated. We ordered lentils with rice and were charged €10 each, plus €5 for a pot of hot tea and €2 for a dessert we didn't order. We didn't catch the dessert mistake before leaving so review your receipt before you walk out. The food was tasty but €30 for lentils, rice and hot tea was just as much as (or more than) ordering the three course meal. We'll only go back when we have large enough appetites to eat all the courses. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Excellent lunchtime menu which was worth crossing the border for. Soup, main (we shared a prawn salad and vegetarian dish of grilled cauliflower, hummus and lentils. Both delicious) dessert brownies and chocolate cake. Coffee is also included for 13.50. great value and the service by Eduardo made it even better. He even sang happy birthday to my embarrassed husband. Thank you. We'll be crossing the border again soon. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €10–15 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

It's like you are sitting in your grandmother's kitchen getting the best food in the world 🌎 and you are so HAPPY 😊 Casa Almeida in Caminha, nestled on the first floor of Sporting Club Caminhense, offers a dining experience that seamlessly blends culinary excellence with a charming atmosphere. The restaurant, located at Praça do Conselheiro Silva Torres S/N, 4910-122 Caminha, boasts a menu that showcases a meticulous selection of dishes, each crafted with precision and flair. Upon entering, guests are greeted by an ambiance that strikes a balance between sophistication and warmth. The attentive staff at Casa Almeida ensures a seamless dining experience, combining impeccable service with a deep knowledge of the menu. The culinary offerings at Casa Almeida reflect a commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients. The menu, thoughtfully curated, presents a fusion of traditional Portuguese flavors with contemporary twists. From appetizers to desserts, each dish is a testament to the chef's culinary expertise. Standout dishes include where the marriage of flavors and textures creates a delightful symphony on the palate. The wine list is equally impressive, featuring a diverse selection that complements the menu perfectly. The attention to detail extends beyond the kitchen, as the restaurant's décor adds to the overall appeal. Elegant yet unpretentious, Casa Almeida provides an inviting space suitable for both intimate dinners and celebratory gatherings. In conclusion, Casa Almeida in Caminha stands out as a culinary gem, offering a refined dining experience that captures the essence of Portuguese cuisine. Whether you are a local resident or a visitor to Caminha, a visit to Casa Almeida promises not just a meal but a memorable gastronomic journey.
On a quiet rainy afternoon in Caminha, it was easy to resist the outdoor bistro chairs in the praça. I am so happy we spotted the sign for Casa Almeida, which pointed us into a Sporting Club and up the stairs. A cozy room with delicious desserts in the display case, and beautiful and interesting concoctions on the shelves: compotes, honeys, and hot sauces made by the chef. Lunch was delicious: we each had the barley vegetable soup, and then I had pork and bean stew (feijoada), while my wife had the best arrowz de tomato she said she's ever had, with plump, airy, fabulous bolinhos. The chef/server was friendly, bilingual (at least -- I suspect she can hold her own in Soanush, as well as the Portuguese and Englush we heard), and somehow managed to chat up and feedseveral tables without losing her stride. We left with full bellies, wide smiles, and a jar of spicy sweet malaguete honey that was great with white cheese at home. We are definitely going back! We stopped in for lunch and were delightfully surprised with the quality of the food. We had the daily menu (vegetable soup, bread, main, dessert and coffee) - as mains we chose chicken and a veggie burger. Both equally delicious. The staff, Eduardo the waiter and his cousin Joanne the chef, were both lovely people. The place is new and they are doing a wonderful job. Ask to sit in the terrace! Today we feasted on the lunch special, which consisted of a drink, soup, main dish, and dessert. The food was carefully prepared and flavorful. The service was excellent, and everything about this restaurant tells us that we will be back to visit again soon. Pork tacos + vegetarian options, tasty desserts, and much more translates into everyone's culinary preferences being satisfied. This restaurant is beyond the 'more-of-the-same' that is often seen in other eateries. Well done. Muito obrigado! This is my absolute favorite restaurant for breakfast or lunch cake in caminha and the area. If you’re looking for fresh homemade food, with excellent vegetarian / vegan options you’ll be very happy here. They have a fenced outside area which is great for dogs & kids. The breakfast is what you are really looking for: avocados, has browns, egg, baked beans… amazing 😻 The price is absolutely sensible and you have very affordable meal options for lunch.
