We stopped here during the pandemic and had a most enjoyable afternoon, so we hailed a taxi from the cruise port this time to return. Same great service. Cool off in the shallow water on the beachfront. There is no charge for the lounge chairs when ordering food and/or beverages. Reasonable prices with little extras on the way out were appreciated. 😄 Alfonso "Poncho" Perez took good care of us--treated us like family. It's located on the beach in front of 40 Canones Hotel. Best food around ! Drinks are excellent . Shirt trip by taxi . Ask for Charlie , he will treat you right . We met the owner , very nice gentleman . Food is delicious, service is the excellent and don’t forgot the massages! Right on the beach ! . There were 4 of us and we could not finish all the food . Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is a very small beach. The fees when I went in Jan 2024 were $10 for a chair. The beers are a bit misleading, they charge 4$ usd for a coronita (mini bottle) and 6$ for a regular size. The food is over priced, the water is actually murky and a lot of seaweed. I left here feeling scammed. Pay for an excursion to leave the port or I recommend just staying on the ship. We visit Barba Negra yesterday and javelin an amazing time. Their food, customer service and facilities are great. Definitely make you feel like Family. And the prices are very affordable for the quality of the food they offer. Will definitely visit them again. And they also offer free parking for golf carts is you came on a cruise, free welcome drinks and Beach chairs. Just pay for whatever you consume. No minimum consumption required. Fraude ! Be careful, they charge approx 4.50 USD for one cup of normal coffee, while the "normal" price on other places is like 1.50 - 2.00 USD. Now i also understand why coffee is not in the menu. If you Order sth which is not in the menu, ask for the price BEFORE ! Also be careful with the Tips: in our Case they added >40% of tip on the invoice ! What a great time we had here! BEST margaritas! Fabulous salsa! Greatest servers! It wasn't a perfect beach day but it was still a great day! Highly recommend!

Great place on the beach. No charge for chairs or umbrella if you order food. Drink prices fair. $4 beer $10 Margarita. Fresh fish $16. Alfonso Peres was our host and took good care of us. Our second time there and we will be back.

Staff was great, nice beach/water, decent drinks, good food. Was a little crammed but still reasonable. LOTS of beachwalkers trying to sell stuff. Did $35 unlimited drinks for the day, paid for food. $4 taxi per person to get there from port. Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–100

This place is not great. We were there on a day when there were 4 ships in port. That is the maximum number possible. The chairs are $20.00 each with a beer or small welcome drink. They push the all inclusive packages which are very confusing. We decided to order a la carte. We got 2 $10.00 entrees and & a $5.00 beer. When the bill came they charged us $12.00 each and $6.00 for the beer. They also charged $5.00 tax which wasn’t changed when they reduced our price to the menu price after I complained. So check your bill. There are many beach bars in Mahahual, I would never go to Capitán Barbanegra again. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–100
