The food is bland and disappoints everytime. I question daily whether the meal plan is worth it, but since I live on campus with a budget and no car, I have no other choice. Adjusting to this food gave me an upset stomach for a month straight.

A school cafeteria, no less...great homemade foods, lots options, pleasant owner and staff. Fresh,... did not run out of food = yay. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $1–10 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
I have read many reviews stating that the food is inedible. My experience differs completely. I've had free-range chicken, hamburgers and fries, pot roast, pizza, salad bar, breakfast burritos, eggs, and bacon, and various other food items and all have been good. Not a five-star restaurant good, but good for a reasonable price for the area. In fact for the amount of food and quality of food, this place is amazing. Good luck finding the same quality and selection going to a fast food restaurant. Heck, last time I went to In-and-out, my double double meal cost more than my meal at Caleruega.
The food is more often than not, literally inedible. Any meat that they serve is either tough enough to use as a wallet, or so greasy that it leaves a trail on your plate. For the prices I pay, the food should NOT be this terrible. Meals on the weekend are horrible and more often than not, we are forced to eat leftovers that look like they have been left out under a heat lamp all week. I am guaranteed to get physically ill after eating food from here at least once a week, usually 3 times or more. For the prices they charge me to be forced to eat here as a resident student, I’d expect there to be flavorful food that doesn’t make me sick, but unfortunately that is not the case. They pull the same trick any time that parents or large groups are expected to come to campus and they serve good quality, nice tasting food. It’s all a facade though, because as soon as the visitors are gone, we are back to being served the horrifying food that has become the status quo.
This is not okay. As a student who lives on campus here, I am forced to pay for a meal plan. The prices are inflated and the quality of food is beyond just leaving something to the imagination. It paints a terrible picture of a company that has signed a contract, gouged its clientelle, and made off with this behavior for years. Friday meals, where the bulk of the student body has already left for the weekend, are more often than not literally inedible. I’m not a picky eater, but that doesn’t mean I need to be wasting money on bad food. There is higher quality food for lower cost in the area; however, since I am forced to buy this meal plan, I must forego these empiracally better options for this trash. I ask that our food have some effort. I ask that there would be some care. I shouldn’t have to ask. I shouldn’t. But as a Junior at this school having seen the same stuff for all my time here, I’m past just asking.
The food that Caleruega serves is trash. Often times eating at Caleruega can result in feeling sick. I'm lucky that I don't get as sick as some of the other students that eat there. As a student that has a meal plan, I am forced to eat at Caleruega along with many other students that are in the same situation. My family is paying my college tuition and I feel terrible that they are not getting their full money's worth. The food at Caleruega is a major disservice to anyone that eats it on a regular basis. Adjustments should be made.
Great selection with vegan, vegetarian, pesquetarian, and omnivorous options. They change the menu every day so depends what day you come. I wish the food stayed warm longer but the taste and quality is great for $10 It is also open to the public for the same price!
