It was my first time here. I met my son ( whom I haven't talked to for a few years) for lunch. It's a very nice restaurant, our waitress was very good (she had to come back several times to take our order since my son and I got caught up in conversation and weren't looking at the menu). The meal was very good. I live 330 miles away however between getting to sit down with my son and having a meal at a nice restaurant, it was worth the trip. I'll return when I'm in the area. Food was excellent but our server was phoning it in. Even as busy as it looked from the parking lot we got a table right away. Dont bother with the margarita, I think this was their first time making one. I had jambalaya which was packed with chicken, shrimp, sausage and veggies, with enough kick to satisfy. Had a blast at Buck & Honeys, thanks to Claudia! She's not just a bartender—she's a cocktail wizard. Seriously, the best drink I've ever had! Claudia's the friendliest, coolest bartender in Monona. Had an amazing time at this quaint fancy restaurant. The food is amazing. Our server Brooke went above and beyond in recommending food and drinks. Then when we needed help figuring out where to go after she listed off plenty of attractions to help with our time in the area. I hope everyone gets her as a waitress. For my Vegetarians listen up!!!! Veggie Centricity it's one of the best Vegetarian dishes I've ever had with a bed of cauliflower paste to die for. Please get this you won't regret it. Our waitress AidiA was great! She was timely and attentive. She was friendly, but not over bearing! We really enjoyed our dinner and AidiA was a big part of the reason why. Ordered the Cheese Curds, Ribeye, Burger with sides of Twiced Baked Potato and Brussel Sprouts. Ribeye/Brussel Sprouts delicious!! The Burger was ok I have had much better burgers. I didn’t care for the Twice Baked Potato because it had bacon in it- not a fan. This was a review from a visit July 16th. Me and my fiancé flew in Madison from Tampa Florida. Staying overnight in Madison. I asked the front desk staff if she had any recommendations for a mom and pop restaurant. She recommended us to try Buck And Honey’s. The food was amazing! The whole 8 days of our trip this has the best cheese curds we have ever tasted. We put this on the list of restaurants to eat when we make a return trip. We decided to stop by since I heard it was a great patio. I enjoyed the ambiance and the boats, at first the service was good, host was very kind and got us seated right away. We had the bartender as a server downstairs. It dropped off almost completely after we ordered. We never received any refills and after an appetizer and entrees, it really ruined it for us. My husband had to go to the bar to ask for to go boxes and the bill. We’d come back but probably sit upstairs if it meant the service would be…existent. We recently hosted a bridal shower in the Inland Room at Buck & Honey’s, Monona. The Event Coordinator, Alex, was so easy to work with. She was responsive to emails and met us on a Saturday to see the space. She had great ideas for using the space and suggestions on menu choices. On the day of the shower, Payton was incredibly professional and did a fabulous job of overseeing several details. Adam and Sarah were amazing as well. The food was delicious and beautifully displayed. The cocktails were delicious and served with a smile. The professionalism was top notch.
