I am not much of a pub guy! But the vibe and the energy at Ashtar is simply amazing! You get a sense that it is a community and not just a business. The ambiance, the people and the pub's caretakers flow together to offer a sense of positivity and oneness. Considering what Lebanon is going through, to have a place like Ashtar still functioning and also providing sanctuary for the weary... It is not only a testament to the beauty of the place but also to the quality people making this oasis accessible to everyone in need.
A very chill and cool place to grab an amazing drink. The bartender has some creative drink mixes and the friendliness works to his advantage, as it makes one want to try more. The clientele is just as chill as the bar itself, and the music is the cherry on top.
Outstanding bar popped in on a Saturday and stayed for the live music, great feel ,brilliant music and fantastic people!!! Owner is an absolute legend who makes a guest feel truly at home. 5 stars an understatement, quite simply visit or miss out on the Gem of Jbail!!!
Not a place to recommend, but a place you will regret for the rest of your life if you don't visit it before where you can enjoy the coziness, amazing music, humble people, delicious specialty cocktails, and family atmosphere. It's your place and only one.
I'm a lover of jazz, and most bars that play jazz play the commercially available rubbish that people have accepted as jazz. Not Ashtar! This cosy bar actually plays different genres of REAL, emphasis on the word real, jazz! They also hire live bands that add different cultural twists with jazz as a base. I don't drink anymore, but when I did the bar staff would create works of cocktail art for me. Speaking of the bar staff, if you want to meet some of the loveliest people on the bloody planet, then look no further. No words can describe how cool and relaxing this bar is, but numbers can, 10/10.
