Yummy selection of great produce. Pies, pastries and bread (which they can slice for you). Can get very busy with queue out the door but worth the wait. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Lots of yummy pie options. The queue moves quickly, don't let it deter you! Outdoor seating options available, but it can get busy, and there's also a cute grassy area across the street that is nice for a picnic-style setting. Affordable prices but high quality products, would definitely recommend! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Today my Bakery tour of New Zealand started in Arrowtown at the very well known and respected Arrowtown Bakery & Café. I went with the Steak Bacon & Cheese and a sausage roll. (snuck in a cinnamon scroll too but don't tell the wife.) The pie was very good. Pastry held the whole lot together well and the filling was excellent. Real slices of bacon and real tasty cheese. One of the better bacon and cheese pies I have had lately. 8/10 The sausage roll was a little spicy. I don't mind spicy so it was OK. It was a little dry and I suspect that it may have been left over from yesterday. Some tomato sauce would have helped it. Overall though, acceptable. 6.5/10. I remembered to bring my scales with me and this is the second time I have weighed a pie. It looks like 220 odd grams is a standard for pies and 170 odd grams for sausage rolls. Arrowtown is a beautiful historic town close to Queenstown and well worth the visit if you are ever in this part of New Zealand. The sparrows are quite fat and arrived within seconds of me sitting in the park. They know what they are doing. PS. The cinnamon scroll was pretty good too. Edit: Forgot to mention, the pie was $NZ6.80 which represented excellent value.

If you want an inexpensive, amazingly delicious breaky on the run…. Def get the breakfast butty from here! $9.50 worth of pure bliss!!!! Already looking forward to tomorrow….!!! Yum!!!
Myself & my partner stopped here for coffee and almond croissants. Lady serving went to get croissants from display but stopped and said oh wait i have two already in bag. We tried to eat them but they were rock hard - definitely NOT fresh. When we enquired they said they were todays and offered to heat them. We did eat them but they were NOT fresh. We have eaten almond croissants all over NZ - this place definitely pulled a fast one. This if first time on our NZ trip that we feel ripped off. Visited this place and we love their community. A must go to for some hot coffee or choco on a cold day. We love their Vege Calzone and my daughter loves the Croissant.

Visited NZ back in October '22 and every day for the last six months I've craved their VENISON PIE. We were in Queenstown for a week, but made every excuse possible to go to Arrowtown to grab this pie. Now I need to find an excuse to go back to NZ, may need to move there or something. It's THAT good. They manage to find perfect harmony between venison, gravy, pastry, and seasonings to make a pie that should easily earn them at least one MICHELIN STAR. If you're planning a trip to NZ, it if you're a local and have never tried the venison pie, go ASAP and thank me later. Their coffee is pretty good too, so have one with the pie. They have lots of pastries and tasty sweet treats for everyone else. Try the pie. You won't soon forget it! P.S. I never managed to snag a photo of a pie because I just wanted to eat it. So I've attached a photo of the adorable little birds that came by for the crumbs.

Sorry to say I had the worst coffee. I ordered a flatwhite and got a cupacino, so a poor start. But the real problem is that the coffee tasted like burned toast. The type they used to make into budget instant coffee many years ago. Better try other coffee outlets in this nice little historic town. I hope they get better quality beans. Thank you.

The pies here are so good! I have tried their creamy chicken, mince and cheese, cheese toast and butter chicken. Butter chicken really stands out and it is really good(must try!) All the pastries here are so huge including their almond croissant😋. It’s perfect for breakfast!
