We are local and heard of this spot by word of mouth, finally tried it and we’re not disappointed! Great atmosphere! The waitstaff were kind and professional, and the food was fantastic! Instead of bread and butter, they served naan-style flatbreads with a delicious hummus. We had the Argentinian Churrasco special which was *perfect.* our waiter made me a mocktail even though it wasn’t on the menu. We will most certainly be back!! Incredible Spanish inspired restaurant and perfect date night spot! We live in NYC and have seen our fair share of high end spots and Ann’s exceeded our expectations. We loved the cozy vibe, there was even live Spanish guitar music when we dined on a Friday night. We enjoyed the wild salmon fish special, lobster fettuccine and a grande Caesar salad. Everything was delicious, especially the fettuccine. Highly recommend for a unique Midcoast culinary experience! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Thank you Chef Chris for delighting us with such a memorable menu for New Year's Eve -starting with the ceviche, which was sublime with subtle flavors, and continuing with the steak and seafood cooked with such attention and savored with every bite. The mushroom risotto was such a hit for us as well. To top off the experience were delicious salads and desserts! We are fortunate to have such talent within our reach. We have just moved to the area from the NYC area and have spent many evenings here -it has such a warm, cozy and inviting atmosphere. Everyone here -Chris, Abby, Greg, Linda -makes you feel like you're part of the family. It truly is top notch food, atmosphere, and service. -Lucy and family Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Just dropped in for a glass of wine. It happened to be Happy Hour and got the best Tapas of my life. For free! You have to check this place out. Started with a quail omelet on a bean plus base. Then the best bisque ever. Seafood with good chunks and flavor I have never had any where. I was getting ready to go and had a second glass of red selected by the owners. So they gave me third tapas of rolled fish. Can’t beat it. Ann’s Book Bistro! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Absolutely delicious, a little hidden gem in Maine. The staff is great, the environment cozy and the Chef…he leaves your taste buds asking for more food. The paella is authentic and delicious, as it should be since the Chef is from Spain. The charcuterie is versatile and so satisfying it makes you feel as though you would be complete having just that for dinner. Each dish has something unique to make it special. I would definitely recommend Ann’s Book Bistro…any night of the week.
Such a sweet place! We were looking for somewhere to eat before catching a show at the Waldo (also lovely). We're from an hour south and weren't sure what would be open in the dead of winter - what a pleasant surprise! The decor is really cute and thoughtful - it's clear that there's a lot of personal flair. The service was attentive and welcoming. The menu was the perfect size with the emphasis on fresh veg and proteins. Plenty of options for folks with different tastes. Both of our dishes were spot-on: The pasta with lobster tail was cooked perfectly (seriously - it might be a simple dish, but cooks know how hard it is to get the balance right), and the salmon burger was freshly made - with a lovely side of pickled fruit and veg that paired SO WELL with the earthy salmon. Again, dead of winter. The prices are a little spendy, but whatever. This isn't Moody's. The complimentary fresh flatbread and bean spread we were served prior to our meal ALONE would have been a $10 appetizer in Portland, and the wine list was very reasonable. Honestly, just a really cute place with lovely food and follks - worth the drive for dinner and a movie if you are looking for something special. Classy food, unpretentious environment. Try it! Ann's Book Bistro catered an event that we hosted last night. They delivered food promptly and set everything up with labels and lovely presentation. The food was delicious! People raved about the naan bread with dipping sauce, curried meatballs, charcuterie boards, garlic shrimp, blueberry cheesecake, and more. There was nothing left, not even crumbs. Thanks Abby and team, for making our event extra special!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Ann's Book Bistro is such a gem of a restaurant. The staff working there are all phenomenal and extremely personable. The food is always INCREDIBLE from the Seafood Coconut Curry Pasta to the insanely delicious Paella! The Chef/Co-Owner is from Spain so he absolutely knows how to master this traditional dish. They also pride themselves in sourcing as much of their produce and proteins locally which you can tell in the favors of each item you consume here. The drinks and desserts are also lovely! The space is so cozy, the music is great, it feels like you are visiting good friends each time! So lucky to have such a great spot for Spanish food in Midcoast Maine! To say the food is outstanding is an understatement! The burger was cooked to perfection and I was so sad when I knew I was at my last bite :( I just wanted more. The atmosphere, drinks, food, staff and the owners are top on the line. The owners Abby and Chris came out to check on us and we’re beyond kind and welcoming. I cannot wait for my next meal there. If you are looking for the best food of your life then make a reservation here!!!!!
