Everything here was fresh and delicious. We discovered Alforno on our last day in Madeira. We had lunch AND dinner here. The Grilled Burrata was amazing. The Octopus delicious and Meaty pizza was the best in recent memory. The Sangria was pleasant, light and refreshing. The hospitality is five-star with the food & atmosphere equally matching that five star status. Chill over lunch with something light and fresh (and a few cheeky tipples), or enjoy 3 or 4 courses with some great wines over dinner. You might think pizza is pizza, however by using authentic, high quality Italian ingredients combined with traditional preparation and cooking methods, the team here have definitely worked hard to perfect the both the food and drinks menu. Attention to detail is second to none and whatever you choose you won’t be disappointed (ask if you’re not sure, the staff are more than happy to take time to explain individual dishes and recommend accompaniments) Spotlessly clean, timely service, extremely fair prices provide an overall service that will likely see you returning again and again. We enjoyed supper here during our stay in Madeira! Pasta was fresh, service was lovely. The staff ensured our needs were met throughout our dining. We do not speak Portuguese, but staff took it upon themselves to translate every bill item at the time of payment to ensure we understood what we were purchasing - no surprises! The food here is top notch. Fresh ingredients excellently prepared. The flavours were great and the portions are quite large. Their pizza dough is like a cloud - some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff is also very kind and attentive which creates a very enjoyable atmosphere. Highly recommend if you are craving some amazing Italian food in Madeira! We had an amazing meal here tonight! A smoked burrata pizza, lasagna and fresh green salad, all accompanied by glasses of tasty red wine. Our waitress Mila provided spot on recommendations, was attentive while not being overbearing. If we weren’t leaving the island, we would definitely be return customers time and again! Our new favorite pizza place in Funchal and probably all of Madeira. We were lucky enough to dine here from day 1, where we went 3 days in a row. The pizza is simply amazing and it's proper Italian where the dough rests for 48 hours, which is quite rare for pizza places. Additionally, the menu has a lot of classic and even rare Italian dishes, should not only crave a pizza! The chef is an artist who truly cares for every dish on the menu! First time, but won’t be the last. The pumpkin risotto with steak; absolutely delicious, the lasagne; lovely. Very friendly staff, great atmosphere. The owner is striving for authentic Italian, and is well on the way. Presentation, flavours, all great, bellissimo. Generous servings, including alcohol, made the wife go blind 😂.
