I had a very disappointing experience at the "Aki Calheta" restaurant/bar. We didn't even order food because the hygiene was non-existent. The apple cider I ordered was undrinkable, and I left it untouched. I cannot recommend it to anyone. The only thing drinkable was the beer. Additionally, the outdoor seating area smelled bad due to the lack of cleanliness, and the service matched the overall poor quality of the place. I do not recommend it. The good part, they have a fair variety of local beer, and it's quite good (I wasn't expecting it to be that good, frankly - even ubiquitous local Coral is good). And it was quiet and not busy - though it had a tired and scratched vibe to it, so that's probably why. The food was bland - it wasn't bad, but it was somehow lacking the taste where taste is usually present (like salmon steak). So it's a decent place for a glass or two, but for food not as much. Great location. We had the tomato soup and garlic bread. It took longer time to get it than we’d expected and unfortunately the tomato soup was very plain and lacked taste completely. Garlic bread was great though! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch

Friendly staff but the food was absolutely terrible. Very average tuna steak with tasteless boiled frozen mixed veg and miserable boiled potatoes. Reheated soggy chips fried in dirty oil, horrible fatty 'beef' on the pizza that I couldn't even cut, let alone chew. Our waiter didn't seem at all surprised that we only ate half the food, certainly didn't ask if 'everything was ok'?! There are a few other excellent restaurants nearby, choose one of them! Not the best but also not the worst restaurant nearby and considering the fair prices it is an alright place to eat. The meat dishes (T bone steak, etc.), drinks, and service were all good. We ordered several pizzas, some were decent (definitely not great but also not too bad) and some others were quite bad... there seemed to be an inconsistency in making pizza which is unfortunate - hopefully the objective for improvement! Considering the relatively cheap prices it was alright, we came with a group of 8 and nobody paid more than 20€ for main course and drink. Good pizza, for two People size was 15, 90e. Capuzzino 0,60e. Beer 1,30e. Friendly staff, nice terrace to watch People go to whale safari and trying to get sometimes lifesaver vests on. Clean toilets. Pizza with prawns was good.
