Amazing food. Portuguese style. Loved it from beginning to end. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
It has been a few years since we last came here. Thankfully the Quelha is still a very enjoyable experience and a traditional style menu. Today we chose the "Coelho a caçador" ( rabbit casserole ) along with a jug of the chilled Espadeiro rose young wine. Just delicious. Excellent service. Opens for lunch and dinner 1130-1400 and 1900-2200. The place has about 25 tables outside and inside. Parking is on the nearby streets.
Nice setting, food average at best, service mixed. Wine was actually very close to the supermarket price which I respect & it was nice. Do I understand the ‘amazing’ reviews, no. Did the service ruin the experience? For sure..... Would I come back, no. I’m a foodie to be fair, from London but I’m not oblivious to decent food & good service. To be honest service at the end did improve but the welcoming, ‘how are you, can I help, didn’t materialise’. Am I bored to death being here? Definitely.... Shame. Starters were in the wine menu that we had no idea about until we left. Food average, wine good.

Avoid this restaurant. It is a nice and very busy restaurant. The owner ( I guess) speaks a fluent french but you are really seen as tourist. We paid a very expensive bill for 2 dishes. It is clearly out of Portuguese price range and it is not a fancy place. We went there because it was recommended by a local person but the restaurant clearly treated us badly. I hope at least the very expensive price they charged us will go to employees not to the owner only. Please avoid if you are not from around.

We just had one of our best meals at this local, traditional restaurant. Lightly fried hake was awesome, and grilled octopus was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. Both were super fresh, too. Service was friendly and a family affair. Look for the name on the stone above the door!
Very good, traditional Portuguese food with a no frills kind of vibe! The bread was divine and the main course of "lulas grelhadas" was incredible. Simple food with pure, delicious flavours. Great value - couldn't believe that bread, 12 jar of wine, water, 1/2 portion meal and dessert was just over 10 euros! Go support this awesome, family-run restaurant if you're in town! You won't be disappointed in terms of the food.
Cold pimentos de padrão. Cold rabanada. Asked for olive oil for the bred and was charged €2 for that. Is the year 2022 and they don’t take cards nor mb way
OMG We came as a group of 9 people on short notice. We received samples of all the dishes and all of them were just great. The best dinner we had all week

We were 4. We had to wait more than an hour to have just drinks, bread, our order taken (we actually had to stop the waiter to have our order taken); when it was enough, we paid for our drinks, told to the waiter that it wasn't correct even to have no news about it. Instead of being sorry he said "you know, in other places sometimes you wait even more". Pathetic. Food looked tasty, too bad we won't return there anymore.
