The food was excellent as usual...ever since "The Wedge" days in Rosettenville, the quality hasn't changed. Service by Owen was outstanding, as friendly and professional as always. The only letdown was the noise, especially because of the open doors leading to the playground...not the best setting for a romantic dinner. Other than that, definitely highly recommended! We don't live near Alberton at all and it was recommended by friends. We decided to try it since we were coming from Vereeniging. We were very pleased with the food and the AWESOME service from our waiter. Due to the amount of food we ordered and we wanted it at the same time, he moved us to a bigger table to accommodate that and he brought me an extra takeaway box for some leftover breads that I wanted for my dogs. As for the food, it was proper authentic Portuguese taste and flavours. For starters, we ordered giblets, clams and tripe. It was so delicious that I was drinking the sauces. For mains, we ordered the crab curry, the espetada and rabbit. It was just as good and they made a yummy white sauce for their vegetables servings (not your typical roasted veggies or butternut/creamed spinach). The beef espetada had a buttery, smoked marinade on it and they cooked to our perfection (medium rare) My husband enjoyed the traditional Portuguese dessert, molotof, I had a dom pedro and my son had the Ola Magnum Almond ice-cream which the waiter put on a plate with a serviette which it was a nice touch. Overall, a good meal and we will definitely return. The only expensive meal on our bill was the crab curry which is very normal to pay for shellfish.

I was extremely disappointed and disgusted in a review written regarding the dog at the restaurant. I was present that day and the dog was not a full grown pit bull at all, he was a puppy. Secondly it just shows the discrimination that pit bull dogs face. The dog was neither “yelping” or disturbing anyone. Very sad to see the bias that goes on. I have always had a pleasant time here and the staff is friendly and the food is delicious! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Amazing setting with the convenience of outdoor or indoor tables and seats. Enough to keep kids entertained the entire time and if you dont have kids.. the option is there to just sit on one of the super comfy couches and enjoy the lovely food and assortment of cocktails.

Stunning place to take the entire family for delicious, generous food and an incredible playground that will keep children of ALL ages entertained for hours while you have time to catch up with friends and enjoy a well deserved glass of wine. This hidden little gems is definitely worth a visit!

I've been going to A Churrasqueira for years now and I've never had any issues until today. To allow a full grown pitbull to come into your establishment with its owners it's highly irresponsible and disappointing. How do you allow animals into a food establishment? My daughter was too scared to even go and play once the dog was there. The dog was yelping most of the time as it saw the kids running and got excited. The owners had to try and hold onto the dog from running after the kids. We were put off our food, immediately got up to pay and left. When I enquired on the matter I was told that the owners confirmed over the phone with them if it was ok to bring their dog and apparently said it was a small dog. Not an excuse. You could have turned them away at the door once you saw its not a small dog. Anyway your rules I guess and I would prefer not to go eat where animals are allowed for hygiene purposes. I am a huge animal lover but I do not want to have them around while eating. I wish your establishment all the best but I won't be back.

This is such an awesome restaurant. Absolutely the best for family, friends and groups. Huge play area and extremely spacious. The service was great and the staff is friendly and very welcoming. They have a great menu, affordable and the portions are large and definitely worth it.
