You have to watch the prices sometimes, but you can get some really good deals here too. The produce is good, they have a good toy department, and their app is useful in saving a little extra money. They carry Brooks ketchup, and that's always a plus! They also have a good collection of frozen foods. Now you REALLY have to watch their prices! Some of the prices are insane, but a few of them are actually pretty good. Just got shoes when I really needed them for 75% off, so I love this place a lot more now!
The woman who checked me out, did not say hello, made no eye contact and seemed bothered that I was in her check out! The end of the transaction came and I asked her if she had taken the coupons off, she acted as if I asked for free money. When she took the coupons off, it came to approximately 319.00 after coupons. I handed her 350.00 it was 150 dollars in 50,s and 200.00 dollars in 20's. She entered the wrong amount thinking I gave her 410.00 and was about to give me in change, about 130.00 dollars . I politely told her I gave her 350 and that she may have miscounted, even joked about how I screw up counting after an uneven number of 50's. She was rude, the entire time, while she sat there glaring at me and clenching her jaw! I told her I did not want her drawer to be short and I was not trying to make her feel bad, and to smile everyone has off days. I think she may be in the wrong industry!! I left the store with my purchase but on my way out, I kept thinking how I wanted to go back and ask her exactly what her problem was?!! I decided against it, because I was so angry that she was such a snotty little girl, and all I was trying to do was be honest! No good deed goes unpunished!
I like the store just fine, it could be stocked more. I really dislike one of the older cashiers. She was bagging today and while I was checking out she managed to insult the music the store played, the " cheap" clothing (I was buying clothes), the cashier and myself for not knowing about whatever Harley Davidson thing is happening right now...I get that you're old and miserable, just keep it to yourself.
Always a pleasant experience browsing/shopping at this store. Obviously does battle with WalMart, Target and up in the Keno area.....Woodman's as well.
Store is always well organized, pretty well stocked despite supply chain shortages of certain products, they seem to stay on top of item recovery very well and customer service always reigns supreme.
If only this was a bit closer to my house in Beach Park would I shop here much more than Walmart in Zion. I'll admit that I do shop at Woodman's as well but all-in-all it's always where I can find the best prices on specific items.
They do seem to carry better brands especially with clothes compared to Walmart and Target. Their liquor section is tops over Walmart but not Woodman's who reigns supreme over all of the stores I've mentioned.
Just like any, they have drive-up and in-store pick-up which I've never had a bad experience with. I live in northern Lake County but the Keno location is closer and much quicker to get to than the Round Lake Beach location and WI tax rate is cheaper, too.
Hope to continue to see more Meijer locations popping up and better yet could easily replace some Walmart locations being they're the same type of store with similar pricing just more modernized with a much sleeker look inside and out.
Great store to find all you will need and want. It's like shopping at Walmart or Target, but it's better with items at fair prices. Starbucks and US Bank Branch located inside. Plenty of parking.
Truck parking on the edges.
Needs trout. Needs Dave's good seed bread.
Has good fruit and veggies and nuts and other food. Much better than Walmart.
Food with preservatives are bad.
Even good electronics.
The bags don't separate when bagging though.
Favorite spot to shop for groceries. I'm very fond of the rewards program, which gives me a few dollars off of groceries every couple of weeks, as well as offering coupons specially-tailored to me as a rewards member.
I trust the Meijer house brand as I've never encountered an issue with cleanliness or quality. Deals here are usually great.
Abuse of living things!!! I have shopped at Meijer for many years and I am so appalled by what I saw today that I do not think I can return. More fish were dead than alive in their fish department today. The water conditions were so filthy that no living thing could last long. There was even a fish openly decaying at the bottom of one of the tanks. Meijer should be ASHAMED. Do not have a live aquatic section if you will not care for them. Fish are living creatures and do not deserve to be sent to a store just to die. This is cruelty.
First, this Meijer has BareMinerals, Peter Thomas Roth, Murad and Philosophy! Meijer's in Illinois better get with the program!
Staff was all so nice. The Greeter was sweet, gave us the weekly paper.
At Starbucks, our bill was $6.23, I gave her $7,and she says, "oh don't worry about that, I have a quarter up here." Darling!

Prices are often lower than grocery stores.
My only complaint is that the deli didn't have my Gourmet Chicken Salad with the walnuts and grapes like my Meijer in Rolling Meadows does.
Be careful, Meijer really sucks you in and before you know it, you've been there an hour and haven't even been by the clothes, housewares or health and beauty section yet!
It's a huge store, well organized and maintained, clean, nicely designed, great customer service, you will find anything that you are looking for, even big pet department..
