Very southern food, with good service! Located in a nice old home on a quiet street. We ate there for lunch and later for dinner. It is known for its fried chicken that did not disappoint! Service Dine in Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Very good on all levels. Our friend takes us every year after our hunting trip just across the river In Louisiana. Atmosphere is fantastic along with the service, our waitress has been there a long time and it shows. Now about the food, I had the fried chicken and it was awesome. For desert I had the pecan pie with a scoop of ice cream, so darn good. If your ever in Vicksburg the this is a must stop for eats. Well, I was completely underwhelmed. We arrived right at 11 for brunch. Parking was fine at that hour but I could see how it would get full quickly. We chose our table in the room the hostess directed us to. Our waiter was a young man and he did not introduce himself or even say hello. He took our orders and service was fast. We had the shrimp and artichoke casserole, fried chicken, rice and gravy, green beans, greens, yam pone (mashed sweet potatoes), Waldorf salad, peach cobbler, and coconut cake. They did not serve over-large helpings, which is good. But it wasn’t hot ( the food meant to be hot, that is). Also, the shrimp and artichoke casserole was skimpy on baby shrimp (there were 3 in my serving) and overwhelming with huge pieces of artichokes—the sauce was good though. The cobbler and cake were disappointing as well. Cobbler was cold and the cake could have come from a Sara Lee box. We paid $55.50 (I had a mimosa). I don’t think we’ll be back. Also, you have to climb stairs to go into the front door and the bottom hardware on the stairs is broken, so be careful. Fantastic staff, all of them, front of house, kitchen and the gentleman we spoke to in the parking lot. Wonderful food, superb cakes, charming building. So glad thatwe found this place. We have been traveling from SC to AZ and back over the holidays and this is by far the best meal we have had. We had delicious soups, excellent fried chicken and scrumptious cakes. Don't miss the opportunity to try this restaurant it is definitely worth driving the few minutes off I20 to get here. Wonderful service, a truly vintage setting with pie carousel and homey feel. The good was good, southern classics. I didn't think there was much meat in the chicken but it was moist. The catfish, lights of it, nicely breaded and fried. Great sides. We should've tried cake but got pecan pie, good, but the cakes liked amazing! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This place was my favorite restaurant on our vacation. Our waitress Latonya went above and beyond and made our experience great. She was friendly, offered recommendations on the menu, and took great care of us while we were there. We ordered fried chicken, fried catfish, and a club sandwich. All of our plates tasted amazing, but the fried catfish was the best of them all. Two thick slices of catfish fried to perfection with two sides. At first I cringed at some of the prices on the menu, but let me assure you, it was worth every cent. Their Chocolate Mousse cake was delicious too. We will definitely eat here again when passing back through. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Fried Chicken

This restaurant sits in deep Vicksburg history. We were escorted and seated and orders taken. We had an order of crab cakes as a starter. Came out quickly. These missed the mark. I found these crab cakes to be fried in old oil. These were not fresh. There was no lump crab meat. It look like mushy tuna out of a can or from Sysco foods. We had for our main course shrimp and grits. Shrimp were very good. Large portions but way to much sauce over the grits. The service was good but very over priced.
First, getting seated at a table took quite awhile...like a long, long time. Not because it was that crowded, but apparently they don't have someone dedicated to getting people seated. So your best option is to basically flag someone down and let them know you're there. Overall a really great dinner for the family! The food was fantastic and out waiter, Tyler was mostly prompt, courteous and genuine. Although he made a mistake in bringing us the wrong appetizer (and shouldn't have charged us, but did); he did an otherwise great job...lots of hussle, effort and friendly service. We did notice another table that was upset over there slow initial service as well (not Tyler's customer)...so the service may be a little lacking initially. I had the World Famous chicken with southern grits and asparagus. Everything was great! My wife loved her Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. She thought it was perfect. My son loved the shrimp & grits as well. We also had a piece of their fantastic chocolate cake...super rich and fluffy! A definite must visit if you're in town... we'll definitely be back when we're in town!

Stopped here for dinner. All the staff was friendly and prompt. All the workers had masks on. The restaurant was an old house and was very nice. Our food was hot and delicious. I had the fried chicken which was really good. My husband had the house salad and a bowl of gumbo. He said both were excellent. We will stop here again when we travel through Vicksburg.
