After experiencing an incredibly rude interaction by the owners of the nearby Smokey’s place, I decided to walk over to the Truckee Food Shop and grab a roasted half chicken with vegetables and Caesar salad. The owner was probably the most pleasant person I’ve dealt with in a very long time. And the food was great! I went on my home to Sacramento area but stopped at the lookout on the old Donner Summit Road. I enjoyed my meal with the wonderful scenery in front of me. It was nice and much better than dealing with that rude old old lady at Smokey’s. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Everything that I have ever bought from here, from sandwiches made to order to prawn enchiladas for dinner to their marinated rib eyes and prawn ceviche, has been extraordinary!
