Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Chicken Pot Pie Berries and Cream Strudel and a Balsamic Salad
This is a different review for a very different experience. We sought this cafe out just based on the word 'strudel ' but arrived to see it was closed due to a catering event. As we stood out front, trying to decide where to go next, the owner opened the door and invited us in. He pulled down 2 chairs, moved a table out, and offered us a few options he could provide despite being very clearly busy preparing a huge order for the event. This would never happen in 99% of businesses. I wish we lived nearby so I could make this my regular haunt. A business owner with a true love of his trade and heart for the people he serves. God bless him. Food: 5 Service: 5
We have been to the Strudel Shop MANY times, and we were even able to take one of his Strudel making classes. We recommend checking out the weekend brunch. The food is always amazing, and Chef Kevin is a ridiculously talented chef. Where to start with this gem of a place. After getting a cream puff and apple strudel just before closing on Friday, we knew we had to come back for brunch on Saturday. Kevin, the owner, and his brother and father, did not disappoint. Phenomenal food, the best pastries and amazing dishes, making the all you can eat brunch more than worth our time and money. But that might not even be the highlight of our experience here. The family entertained, cracked jokes, played the piano, ran around and created an unforgettable time for all the guests. We had to leave the city right after, but the moment we are within an hour's drive of Columbia, we will be back and we will surely not be disappointed by Chef "karate kicking pastries in the face" Kevin. See you soon! (Also: this is the best European style food/pastries I've had outside of Europe) Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Brunch Buffet
