We have been going often because of the excellent caring people that work there and the food. I have Celiac Disease, gluten allergy and they always go beyond to ensure I don't get any wheat cross-contamination. Excellent service, they are so nice and helpful!!! You must try all their foods. Our favorite is the moist brisket, all ribs, sausage, loaded potatoes with brisket, potato salad and we buy the Sissy Sauce by the bottle. I've been to the Rudy's in Austin so I was super excited to see it in McAllen! We got the regular brisket and ribs as our main plus creamed corn and cole slaw. Everything was delicious except I would skip the creamed corn. It's just corn in a sweet sauce. It's not actually creamed. Cole slaw was yummy. Great service and ambiance. For the most part everything is always good. We mainly go for the Pork loin. The only issue we always have is the pork loin. Either it’s dry or they don’t have any. Never fails on either, this time not available. You only offer 4 main items how do not have one of them or forget to cook it. Had to substitute pork with chicken and for chicken I rather go somewhere else. This is not a daily grub place...this food here set us back 45 smaks... Not bad at all. Food is very well prepared...very tasty...place is wonderful..awesome layout..awesome ambience...awesome friendly staff.... This is a great place to bring family and friends on special occasions..or a weekend getaway.... I highly recommend this place at this address in McAllen... If its barbecue "to go" style this is the place....they have anything barbecue and dessert to olease yiur palate... i have been to more specialized "home made" mesquite/oak grilled barbecue...but that's out of the city... Normally their bbq is delicious but yesterday we had the driest brisket I’ve ever had in my life. We got 4 brisket sandwiches and 1 pulled pork sandwich. As per hubby, pork was delicious but as for the rest of us, that brisket was DRY and HARD. Not even drenching it in bbq sauce helped choke it down. I have tried Rudy's brisket and I have to say it's not your typical barbecue meat. Sausage, ribs, and chicken are better but not for myself to go back more often. Sides are good. There are other places that are way better in the RGV. The owner needs to pay more attention to the product. The staff are great. It's hard to go wrong with this B B Q restaurant. Great menu prices are reasonable and we had wait staff coming by our table to see how we were doing at least 6 times. Awesome place. Now the best part is there is always a presence of law enforcement officers always catching lunch at Rudy's. Safe place to eat and enjoy. Huge place with plenty of seating. Friendly staff and excellent service. Place was clean and well kept. Food was delicious and at a good price. Tried the brisket sandwich and chicken. We love BBQ and their two-meat sandwiches are so delicious! The brisket/turkey combination is our absolute favorite, we love them that we eat them twice a week! Also the side of beans is hands down the best!!
