We decided to visit Black and Blue on a whim, without a reservation, and were pleasantly surprised to still get a table. However, the table was situated right next to the cupboard where plates, glasses, cutlery, etc., were kept for the waitstaff to access. The food was good; the pulled pork is highly recommended for its melt-in-your-mouth quality! The Black Angus burger was also tasty. The price for the main course was reasonable, but the prices for starters seemed a bit steep. Nearly 5 euros for JUST ONE slice of bruschetta? 🤔 The atmosphere was loud and chaotic. Additionally, a waitress accidentally dropped a wine glass on my head and shoulder, and it took her quite some time to ask if everything was okay. Some of the broken glass remained on the floor next to us for quite a while. It was okay, but I’d only recommend this place if you can get a table at main floor or down where the kitchen is. Absolutely one of the best restaurants I've ever been to, hands down. The meat was cooked to perfection, the fries were fresh and so crispy, and the herb butter was better than my own! My friend and I are officially in love with the chef! Dank je wel! This restaurant looked nice from the outside and the menu was appealing, so we came here for lunch on a quiet afternoon. Server was taking a personal call so took a while to seat us/bring us menus etc. but I had the best baked camembert of my life here, it was so delicious, not a hint of acridity that you sometimes experience with this dish. The bread that accompanied it was also amazing, I only wish that I had been given more as I ran out quite quickly and still had a fair amount of cheese left. My partner had eggs benedict and stated that it was delicious, but unfortunately stone cold and found the muffin quite hard to cut through. He ate it anyway as we were on a time crunch and it had taken a while for our meals to be brought out in the first place. My dish was also lukewarm at best, but tasted so good that I didn't complain. I enquired about whether I could order a cocktail on the menu but have it without the alcohol, I was assured that it was possible. However, that drink never appeared and wasn't mentioned by the server again. I wasn't charged for it though and we had water on the table, so it wasn't the end of the world. Atmosphere was lovely, beautiful decor, I liked the music that was played there and the other patrons were all quiet and respectful, unlike some other places that we ate at in the city. We had quite a romantic lunch, all things aside. The bowl of candy delivered to the table with the bill was also a nice touch. Great place for a bite to eat, the food is of high quality. The service can be a bit fragmented though, be prepared to chase up your drinks order as they may forget some of it. I was in a group and one person didn’t get the food until we had all finished. But the food is great so enjoy the atmosphere and chase them up if you feel you’re not being looked after.
